  1. I agree but man did our run defense suck when Richardson was out of the lineup. I think he's more valuable than we realize.

Couture, B.A,. Bailey, Darby, Woli & Collaros this week.... next week early Bryant, then Rose, Oliveira, Biggie, Briggs, Gray & Benson

I agree that he can be replaced... but Stove is a special player... the middle of our D-line changed dramatically when he returned from injury... after 2019 we knew Stove was in house and ready to replace Nevis... I'm not sure (yet) if Sayles or Walker are at that level... I also agree that it's possible a team opens up their wallet for him and Walters can't (or won't) match

BA is a must sign. Would like to have Darby back as well, and I think he will.

I don't even want to think about losing stove. I'd sooner see Sayles walker and rose gone. We dont have another guy to play nose idk how many guys in the league could fill his role. Maybe drake Nevis would be cheap. The difference is that they aren't remotely the same type of player. Sayles who I think is phenomenal and ready for a massive year isn't a nose. Sayles plays a 3 tech. Out side shoulder of the guard is his alignment. Stove plays on the center. This stagger gives us great ability to collapse the pocket and helps our layered pressure. One de going wide on a deep Pass rush angle and the other rushing shallow. This obviously isn't what we do all the time we rotate guys and fronts a good bit. But this is the bread and butter that opens the rest up. Sayles is like a hybrid de dt. He pass rushes from inside position. We some times use a 3 de front usually with willy in this role. This both closes running gaps and collapses the pocket or pushes it back onto the qbs lap. Stove goes up the middle into a double team virtually every snap he plays. Some times he knocks his man down soo fast its more like 2 1 on 1s. No one here has that kind of bull rush. Rose and walker are similar tool sets to Sayles. Rocq hardly played d after coming back. He mostly played teams. It wasn't till the play offs we limited the Briggs and Gauthier sub package. With those guys at lber and no Stove we got our lunch eaten inside. In that world I'd rather lose one of the ends. Stove ba and biggie are what makes our defence work. It's like demski Harris and collaros on offense. You can find a guy plays wr rb or qb. But trying to find a qb with collaros mobility Harris blocking and catching and demskis blocking and versatility is as hard as finding a great qb. Finding a nose who can play 2 gaps and eat double teams alive while also having the range to run down plays to the side line is beyond hard. Drake Nevis was and maybe is an excellent nose. But he couldn't get off tackle play 2 gaps or get after the qb like Stove. Stove is just 25. Give him a full year in 2022 and he's easily the most dominant inside line man in decades. He's a Larry Allen level freak. Drake rotating in with stove playing 3 again would be deadly. No guard in the league can block him 1 on 1.

Strongly disagree. Making a decision on a hunch may work in poker, but when the vaccine has undergone thousands of tests and was developed independently in a half-dozen labs coordinating development and sharing data, it no longer an article of faith. It is hard, replicable science. Logic can be flawed, but science, though imperfect, does not respond to emotion. And yes, there is a degree of risk, but risk is inherent in every aspect of everyday life. We need to look at the data and assess risk vs reward.

I remember thinking he got beat for two long passes in that game (one being the TD), but he had such tight coverage on both plays. Seemed a good'r right out of the gates.

Our opponents ran for 100+ yards against us in 4 of the 7 games Richardson missed. The rest of the season it happened once. A lot of the time teams just couldnt establish the run against us because they were down by so much early. We were hovering around 6 yards per carry against which was last in the CFL for a good chunk of last season. If we lose Richardson and arnt as dominate offensively it could be a whole different season in 2022. Teams knew we could be run on but just didnt have the time to keep at it. My point being Richardson is more valuable than a lot of people think. I like Sayles and he was good but he looks more like a DE to me. Doesnt have the size to be a run stuffing difference maker in the middle like Richardson.

Quebec to force unvaccinated to pay 'significant' financial penalty Quebec Premier Francois Legault says adult residents who refuse to get vaccinated against COVID-19 will be charged a financial penalty. Legault made the announcement to reporters today in Montreal, adding that the levy will only apply to people who do not qualify for medical exemptions. It is the first time a government in Canada has announced a financial penalty for people who refuse to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Legault says the amount of the penalty hasn’t been decided but will be "significant." He says about 10 per cent of adults in Quebec are unvaccinated but they represent about 50 per cent of intensive care patients. Earlier today, Quebec reported 62 more deaths attributed to the novel coronavirus, pushing the total number of people killed by COVID-19 in the province to 12,028, the most in Canada.

In a world where we could only keep 2/3 of Biggie, Stove and BA. Biggie and BA would be the two to keep.

Feb 8th Feel like Richardson is going to be the guy we lose. They have Sayles under contract brought back Rickey Walker. Were also very high on Rose before he got hurt but currently a FA to.

Solid!....don't even worry about Bryant ya'll....so we just need to lock in Couture now, and see what happens with Desjarlais....Prob almost a given Gray Re-ups

There is absolutely no defense of the anti vax crowd. Laying it all on the media for what's happening is just too easy. People need to take responsibility for their actions so I also disagree. There's a guy in the US, one of the leading anti vaxxers going around claiming that drinking your own urine cures Covid. And people listen to him. We had Trump bestow the virtues of hydroxachloroquine. The whining about loss of freedoms. About being forced to take an unproven vaccine. Even though drinking bleach like Trump also suggested will kill you. All this in the last 2 years. People are idiots. They believe what they want to believe. No one will deny healthcare to the antivaxers who get sick & rush to the hospital. We all pay income taxes so they won't get turned away even though they should. Funny how they don't trust the science of vaccines yet trust medical science to try & save them.

Bombers are probably missing a goldmine by not producing a Bomber Grey Cup victory documentary along with never-seen interviews with players, coaches, broadcasters (looking at you, Bob Irving) and fans of both teams. I sure as spit would buy one, and I know of a good local film director.

Yes. Any and all of that. I would think so too. Guy like that at the top of his craft on a dominant team. Ride on till you can't. That said I do hope he calls it quits at a time when he still has a very high quality of life remaining. It's all gonna come down to nfl combine for dobson. If he gets the inv he will be drafted and gone for the year. If he some how doesn't get the inv or gets banged up and limited we get him in camp. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with another good ol in this draft too. The mafia know how to identify and develop guys that will fit the system. They don't even need to be high picks. They've turned up some good ol with depth picks.
  21. 3 points
    He is coming back.
  22. 3 points
I think at this point the big question on our ol is Stanley Bryant. If he keeps playing we will continue to dominate on the ol by experience even if Desjarlais is nfl bound.
  23. I don’t really blame the Lions. They are a bad team. Lucky was one of their standout players. Sometimes you need to over pay at the start to get that continuity.
  24. Nice to see Riders using up cap space re-signing their crappy o-line guys....Vaughn was part of a crappy oline in 2019...missed 2020 as did all and 2021...keep em coming Oday haha and yup..PED Leonard...gets a sack...usually 2 crippling penalties, but thats about it...doesn't impact a game to necessitate his 200k+...they should roll with their rookies who did well, and use PED's cash for o-line, DB's, and linebackers...they so thin and weak there
  25. Im very worried about this too. He took a long time to sign last offseason and ive got a bad feeling he ends up somewhere else. I like Sayles but he doesnt have the run stuffing/brute strength of Richardson in the middle.
  26. 3 points
We probably won’t hear about Bighills re signing for another week or so as he is in Hawaii. Unless somonen spots the Grey Cup making it’s way there 🤣 I am confident he will be back next year as well.

Perfect! Great Canadian vet who can play anywhere on the line. Much better as a guard but I digress if we can sign Biggie, Collaros, Alexander, and bring back 2/3 of our Canadian running backs I would be a very happy and satisfied man.

Those who have made the decision to not be vaccinated have done so on an emotional basis, and emotional decisions do not respond well to logic, even if that logic is well-founded in science and experience.

My wife worked as a healthcare aide for 20 years then retired and started doing homecare a few years ago. She now goes into homes where her clients are unmasked. Lots of times there are unmasked visitors there. Some of them aren't vaxed. She gets medical masks and was issued ONE fitted N95 just in case they answer yes to the usual quizz. Eye drops are a common need of her clients so there is lots of very close contact. She can have a dozen clients in a shift . How the hell this is being allowed is beyond me.
  32. Good for Alford… his story is pretty awesome. Wasn’t playing at all in 2020, lost all of his professional workouts. CFL all star, Grey Cup champion, and now in the NFL. Great for him!

Losing Stove would be a blow to the run D for sure. We'd still be solid with say Sayles +Walker or Sayles+Rose but it would be a loss for sure.
  37. 2 points
Nichols is signed...if he doesnt get NFL deal..I think he is done there..age...and has some PR time already, Sayles is back as well, and I know Darby loved it here, and expect him back...same with Rose and Jones, so the loss of Alford is easily absorbed, and we also have Maston who will be back, and prob on a team friendly deal coming off injury. Richardson tho...only so many bucks to go around when we still need to ink Biggie..BA and Rose...he may be the casualty which would suck, but Biggie and the Jeff's over him I can live with...I like our Dtackle depth if those rookies are all back
  38. 2 points
When does fa start Feb some thing? Mafia are moving at a good pace but I don't think any team will have even half their roster signed by then. Any bets on who we lose to another cfl team as a fa? I think it would probably be a db. We have a lot of starters at db and they have to save money some place. Could be Darby or Nichols. Maybe Sayles walker rose or kongbo too. We are crazy deep at dl. It'd be smart for another team to poach one of those guys with the offer of a starting job. Ba Lawler and collaros are the ones I worry the most about.

Great news for Alford. If it does not work out he will back in Winnipeg, hopefully not though. would like to see one of our guys stick for a while in the NFL.
  47. Pending free agent shows up to another teams playoff game wearing their colors. Current team panics and backs up the Brinks truck. Well played, Lucky, well played.
  48. I like Lucky, but for him to be paid as the league's highest paid receiver is laughable. Hopefully it doesn't skew the market too much.
