To be fair, those videos exist they just don't go viral. We are a rage addicted society. I was talking about this on the weekend with some family. Everyone is so scared on every side. It's the fearful policing the afraid. No trust on either side. Add in a lack of training and things aren't going to end well more often then they should.

there was too much mixed-messaging regarding AZ vaxx. It's just ridiculous. For what the vaccine is trying to accomplish, it's every bit as good as the others. This narrative of AZ somehow being a "lesser" vaxx is crazy. Don't get caught up in all the efficacy numbers...

It's no surprise that there is vaccine hesitancy. Most of that can be probably attributed to the absolute garbage being regurgitated on social media. Most people of even average intelligence know that social media is a swamp land of misinformation, unfortunately half the people are of below average intelligence and gobble up every meme and bit of ridiculousness with fervor as if it were the truth.

I have a friend who is retired rcmp. its not straightforward, what a person will do, how they will react, in some of these situations. although american police are clearly right out of control. imagine being an iraqi under American occupation. I have a theory that a lot of this is American military experiences abroad, now being brought home and inflicted on black and brown in America.

I'm starting to question the validity of the reports of vaccine hesitancy. I've spent the better part of the last few hours trying to get an appointment, and they are few and far between. Managed to get in to the Walmart in Steinbach on Friday 😀

I've seen some billboards around the city. Suspect those aren't hugely successful to people who have already made up their mind against them, but it is never a bad thing to have those things mentioned and mentioned often.

So... vaccine hesitancy seems to be an issue with the vaccine rollout. Has anyone seen any sort of campaign to reduce the hesitancy? I haven't seen any. If that's the case that is a huge failure in the roll out... and needs to be addressed.

What i remember about the efficacy of AZ being low is that it was low due to them not testing it on people over 65. Otherwise its 90%.

if the NFL, NBA, baseball, hockey, depended on ticket sales as much as the cfl, they would be in the same boat. not the same situation at all. but the general silence from the league is pretty bad.

Yeah, not worried about clots. Just worried about getting a vaccine that might be useless against the variant du jour when compared to alternatives. It is hard to get any reliable data on that...

Minneapolis has been trying to revamp its Police force for years. The last 3 mayors have tried. There is a huge issue with the head of the police union blocking changes. He is a big MAGA supporter and more. Their Blue Wall starts there.

Who in their right mind who have good intentions, want to do good, want to protect and serve would want to be a police officer in this day in age? What kinds of people are being drawn to law enforcement these days?

The one thing you NEVER see in any of these videos is ANY attempt by the police do descalate or calm things down. It should be there 1st response. Or at least I think so. Back to the farm lessons lol , If you have wild horse or cow you don't start screaming at it and grabbing it. You talk quietly and calmly to bring it's level down.

I think their issues rest on both training and the vetting process ( or lack of it ) in their hiring process. It also goes hand in hand with the race/ political issues. As I said the biggest problem is I bet he suffers no consequences for the punches. It wouldn't happen if he knew he would be fired over it. There is no accountability.

It's not positivity when you know the story is daft from the start. If you believed in your mind thru positive thinking that if you stepped in front of a train going 100 kph that you wouldn't be hurt is that reality or stupidity?? That's all I get from his stories now. I want some actual hope not pie in the sky musings. I'm looking for something to grasp on to that makes sense. I'm desperate for some good news that the 3 down game remains. We'd have no TV money to even cover flights & hotels without those markets. It may not even be feasible to televise games. Smaller is not good. It' would be a death wish. I doubt TSN would be interested in televising any games. If they did, maybe a game a week.
