in fairness, both those countries are relatively small islands.... it's easier to prevent spread/eliminate the virus....... which is not to take away from the progressive nature of both countries, which did a remarkable job.

I'm no constitutional expert but this seems like the appropriate decision. It recognizes that there is overlap in jurisdiction on the environment and that provinces are not solely impacted by their own environmental decision. I appreciate that this was challenged. Even though I support the carbon pricing, I think it's important to test the boundaries of Fed-Prov jurisdiction and POGG.

Globalism isn't the enemy here. Canada has nobody to blame for this dilemma but itself after dismantling its own domestic infrastructure for vaccine production a few decades ago. That shortsightedness back then is what's put us in this present situation, so pointing fingers at other countries or crying about the Globalist Bogeyman is just childish and ignorant.

How about the two home games that we lost literally in the last seconds (EDM, OTT)? If they hung on for a TOTAL of ~ 9 seconds and went to extra time in both, worst case we're in first place by 2 points right now. Yes I'm still bitter about those loses.

If you are referencing the Calgary facility, it is privately owned and will not be able to produce vaccines until this summer at the earliest, and then there is the approval process, which could take weeks. If Mulroney hadn't shut down Connaught Laboratories, we would have been in much better shape.

Well, you dummy, Albertans are opposed to it because you constantly tell them that it's a bad thing. If we had leadership that explained why carbon pricing is actually GOOD, then maybe they'd get on board....ffs.

Stanley is developing into exactly what I'd hoped. Honestly, half the fun for me was the Jets "fans" crying about what a wasted pick he was and that he couldn't skate and would never develop. I cheered for him based on that alone, and figured he could at least be Hal Gill, if not exactly Chris Pronger. I think he'll end up somewhere in between, which is just fine with me. Love that kid.

Well said. I’ve said this so many times over the years. Why bother having rules if they’re only enforced occasionally, when it helps even up the PP’s? Call the game according to the rules, at all times, and maybe your integrity would be less under fire.

What's weird to me is what's the motive here? What's the reward for purposely evening up calls? To make the refs the focal point of the game? To ensure the fans of the higher penalized team don't get angry? What? This has always punished the disciplined teams. Here's a model. Just call a penalty when warranted dictated by the rule book, be consistent in how these rules are being applied during the game and don't worry about the color of the jersey, the score the game or the time you are at in the game.

Oil is clearly trending down and will stay there. But anyone who complains about grain prices is just not paying attention. There are good prices available if you watch the markets and forward contract. And, you can get specialty contracts for crops like high quality oats and malting barley. And all that has nothing to do with ANY government. That was a reasonably good government that also won ridings out here in the rural West. But I am never sure if they can be classified as Liberals - Liberals don't normally slash billions in transfer payments.

Oath Keepers’ Best New Hope Is a Lawyer Who Cites ā€˜Lord of the Rings’ Prosecutors are said to be considering sedition charges against members of the far-right militia. Now an attorney with a bizarre past is raising cash for them. The Oath Keepers militia has seen better days. Members of the far-right group’s leadership are facing conspiracy charges for their alleged role in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Prosecutors are reportedly considering rare sedition charges against those members, and Oath Keepers’ fundraising efforts have stalled after companies like Amazon banned the group from their charity programs. But they have one great, shining hope: a crowd-funding effort spearheaded by a lawyer who recently tried to dissolve Congress and reinstall Donald Trump using a lawsuit that cited politics from Lord of the Rings, the fantasy trilogy about elves. Kellye SoRelle is a failed Texas House candidate and member of the group Lawyers for Trump. After Trump’s re-election loss, she joined a lawsuit that sought to keep him in office, in part by likening the ex-president to a king from the Lord of the Rings’ fictional kingdom of Gondor. Now that a judge has dismissed the elf lawsuit, SoRelle is taking up the Oath Keepers’ defense, raising money for them on a ā€œChristian crowdfundingā€ website. Wingnut Matt Walsh says the quiet part out loud The right to vote isn't a right at all, but rather a privilege that should be reserved only for those "equipped to take part in the process," writes Matt Walsh, a 27-year-old, far-right talk-show host and blogger, at the Daily Wire this week. Walsh normally would not merit a flicker of attention from normal humans. But in this case, he has provided a valuable service to the non-wingnut world by saying openly what fellow voter suppressors are only thinking. Or perhaps whispering amongst themselves. "No It Isn't Easier To Buy A Gun Than Vote. But It Should Be," proclaimed the headline above Walsh's Daily Wire blog. Obviously, he relished killing two birds with one stone. Walsh bathed in conservative shock-and-awe. After complaining that guns were more costly to obtain and more restricted than voting rights, he wrote: "Gun ownership is, after all, a more important and more essential right than voting. Voting is not really a human right at all, but a privilege that ought to be reserved for those who are the most qualified to do it. The ability to defend yourself and your family is fundamental. We all have the God-given right to ensure our own safety and that of our loved ones." Wingnut Matt Walsh says the quiet part out loud - Alternet.org
