I could watch Willie Jefferson come around the edge and swat the ball out of the qbs hand all day.
  2. My Dad took me to my first game, pointed out Leo Lewis, who was playing out the string, with a bad knee.....and spoke to me, at length about the greatness of Lewis. My Dad didn't get that animated, very often....

If these measures stay in place for any length of time, I don't see how they could justify opening schools.

But that's the point, things are already at the point down there where **** like that could happen anyway. Fixing their government by prosecuting the corrupt people in charge goes a long way towards helping out the shitty circumstances that already exist.

Nothing more enjoyable than the fLames getting tossed in the fashion they did last night. Absolutely crumpled and it was wonderful to see. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

This guy also has a conviction for insurance fraud and filing a false statement. He couldn't get a job as a cop elsewhere because of it. This particular sheriff's office clearly has low standards.

If ever there was one President be punished, it is this man Trump. He cannot be excused for the criminal acts he helped perpetuate. They must be firm in setting an example for this sub-human, and damn the consequences. Trump may be allowed to govern at will but Biden must be firm and show this should never happen again.
  11. I had this poster when it came out in 1970 from CFL properties. Had it in my room for years. When it came time to take it down the edges ripped & I ended up throwing it away. I recently bought another from a fan selling his on CFL Collectibles which is a facebook memorabilia page. The poster was pretty beat up & showed its age of 50 years so I had it made into an acrylic print. Cost me $270 but all the wrinkles & tears as well as tape glue on the sides were scanned away & I got a beautiful rendition back that is better than the original. The bonus is that I have the original inside a container stored away in a safe place at home here. This is acrylic print is proudly displayed in my rec room. It means more to me now with the CFL season cancelled & all this uncertainty with the league coming back than it did when I was a teenage fan. Not knowing very much about the history of the league half a century ago. Acrylic prints while very bright do reflect the light. I should have taken this standing just a little bit to the right or left as you can see the light reflecting in the photograph. It still is outstanding & I'm glad I paid the big bucks to get it done as it's a collector's item. The funny part is my son is a big CFL fan living in Seattle. He was born in Calgary & loves the Stamps but I told him this will be his someday as I want it kept in the family. He knows how important it is to me.

Not my earliest Bomber memory or my first game, but I became a life long Bomber fan when I was 9 or 10 in '66 or' 67. My team was invited to play at half time of a game because we'd been city champs the year before. 1 quarter, sideline to sideline instead of the full field. 6 teams competing at once. Nothing like making a play and hearing the crowd from the field and I made one. Sure it was probably only family and friends in the stands at half time, but still a big thrill for me. I'll never forget running on to the field or when we had to go back to our end zone seats at the end of the half. I was hooked then and I'm still hooked now.
  14. Just speaking of Bombers memories, the Bombers Alumni FB account re-shared this fun Ed Tait piece about some memorable moments, including "Troy Kopp's 15 Minutes Of Fame" (it's his birthday today...) https://www.cfl.ca/2020/04/07/look-back-memorable-bombers-games/

Did my heart good to see the Flames knocked out & Tkachuk suffering in the press box while going crazy. Seven straight goals against them. The only way they could beat the Jets was by taking out our best players which is what they did. They deserve all the bad karma they can get.

They’ve played it before and I’d rather see the Friday night game that was played in whatever week this was in the CFL back in 2019. Don't get me wrong, I won’t tire of ever watching this game as we stood tall and held the ’mighty’ Riders to their fate. But I’m hungry for different games, and different action. As it is, if I want to see goalposts being hit...I’ll watch hockey..😀
  21. I really do think the unsung hero in this game was Geoff Gray, knew how to play on the edge and did just enough to get under Edmonton's skin... all whilst not being penalized. Dirty? Arguably...game-changing? 3 minutes and change after Strev gets stuffed on 2nd and 12, two stupid Edmonton penalties kept that drive alive allowing more time to be chewed off the clock.

That was the criticism all year of him. Could move the chains close but couldn't punch it in. There were some crazy plays during that game.

ai yi yi....I forgot about how close that game was and how bad our secondary was at that point. Yeeeeeesh. Way closer than it needed to be. Once again, Trevor Harris with all sorts of yardage and (relatively) few points to show for it.

You're right, I'm likely just failing to see that Hecht is filling a role, just like Sam Hurl did.

  28. I don't know what my earliest on-field memory of the team is but I do vividly remember meeting Tyrone Jones when I was around 8 or 9. My dad knew Tyrone and we happened to run into him one day. I remember being absolutely speechless and could barely get out a hello. I couldn't believe that I was meeting this guy I had heard about all about on the radio and I was even more shocked that my dad knew him. I was hooked on the Bombers after that (I was particularly focused on defensive players back then). I'm sure my dad was sick of me asking questions about Ty and what other players he knew, but he never let on that he was.

  30. damn, I haven't thought about this in forever but at some point in 83-84 I wrote a letter to the "Thrill of A Lifetime" TV show (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrill_of_a_Lifetime) telling them I wanted to play QB for the Blue Bombers.

  34. In university, worked at the movie theater (Silvercity) as a projectionist as well, so could often keep track of the game easily as I'd listen to Irving while threading shows... could see the scoreboard between East/West booth of the theater. I can thread a 45-mm film projector in under a minute, which goes on the long list of non-employable skills I acquired from that job - wasn't all bad though, threading film was super-easy once you got the hang of it, managers were pretty laid back and was able to graduate university debt-free as a result of it (had class during the day, would work the night shifts for shows during the week). As a kid, was always a fan, but my first real live experience that was memorable was in 2010 when Bombers came back from a 21-point deficit in the 4th quarter. Absolutely crazy game and was the first one I attended live with my then-girlfriend (now wife). Next year we agreed to get season tickets and have enjoyed it ever since. Side-note, because of that game, my wife and I never, ever ever ever leave a CFL game early. Which resulted in witnessing the Montreal miracle a few years back, which was also awesome. She's also even more optimistic than I am, I remember during their abysmal 2013 season she'd also say "at least it's an outing..." which was, technically, true.
