Nichols then rears back and finds Woltarksi ..lonely, in back of end zone.... 75 yd, 7 and a half minute TD drive. Blue O in a groove... But Rutley takes the ensuing kick....cover guys caught inside.... ...and he rolls the rest of the way, for a 108 yd TD Reilly hits Carter for the 2 point convert.... Then, 3 short passes and a Bomber PI, sets up a FG. 17-14 Bombers dominating that quarter, with nothing to show for it... Blue running some predictable and ineffective blitzes on D 2nd half. Reilly pass deflected by Fenner and picked off by Hecht.. ….who goes down the sideline for big return, to the BC 8 Nichols looks one way, then rolls the other....finds WoltMan for the TD 3rd time a Bomber receiver is totally wide open in the money zone... Bombers now 3 for 3 in the zone tonight.... Undeterred, Reilly finds Carter with long sideline pass.....past Rose Fenner then beaten badly on corner route for the TD He does end up with ball off a blocked convert and gets 2 points back... Bomber D coverage has sprung some leaks, tonight. 23-23 Bombers take 2 penalties on the KR. One a phony block call on Alexander.. Whitehead does not look like a natural at R. Harris rolls around the end for a big gain. OL Grey looks like the real deal... Harris takes a screen for another first down....but Blue settle for Medlock 3 BC has 4 yds rushing....and aren't even trying it...at this stage Harris goes over 100, on 15 yard draw. Nichols finds Lawler for FD.... Matty hits Wolitarski ….who burrows down to goal line.... Streveler sneaks it in....33-23 for the good guys. This guy Exume is a real ST assassin, has at least 4 tackles.... Bad punt and no yards gives the Blue good field position... but 2nd down holding call, kills drive. Hecht cuts under receiver in middle of field...… ...and gets pick #2, with a lateral to Gaitor to boot..... Bombers go into dink and dink O.....then punt Seems like BC has about like...3 offensive plays in their playbook.. 3rd and 10 Esks. Reilly is hammered by Richardson... ….ball falls to the turf. Game pretty over. Harris bulls his way over the 130 mark, then adds ANOTHER 10 ….to run out the clock....as I run out of gin. 33-23.

So I am just not a big complainer about the media coverage of our local teams. I generally enjoy TSN, 1290, Bob's radio calls.....and so on. But that game last night was one of the worst I can remember. From the endless blathering on about that stupid burger ,chit chating on about nothing while the play was going on. The ridiculous unending stroking of Riley and his receivers. It really was like watching a Lions home broadcast.There were tons of Bombers that got mere casual comments that had outstanding games.That broadcast distracted from the game instead of enhancing the experience. Shame on TSN.

1. Matt Nichols - As always, respectable and unlike his counterpart - no turnovers. 2. Wolitarsky - 2 TDs and was clutch when he needed to be. 3. Hecht - 2 picks that were massive. HH - Brandon Alexander for the heads-up play to flip the ball to Fenner on the convert block - it was only 2 points, but I think that really changed momentum.

Nichols was hands down better than Reilly last night. I said to Noeller right after the game that it was the best game Nichols has played in 2 years. I don't care that he had low yardage, he didn't need to put up big yards. He made the throws he had to, extended plays and was efficient in the redzone. Got help from the run game and just played efficiently. Reilly meanwhile just chucked bombs hoping for the best

Pigskin coverage Outrageous play of the game? Sayles block on the convert attempt when BC scored their TD, Then Alexander snags the ball and smartly tosses it back to Fenner who takes it all the way to the end zone for 2 points. The Bombers tied the game at 23 and owned the Lions thereafter. Huge shift in emotion and momentum. So yes, Fenner got beat on that TD but it was he who deflected the ball for Hecht 1st interception. And had 6 tackles.. We, who believed in Kiere Wilson, are smiling at his play. We hope he’s OK. And boy, is he fast, catching Burnham like that. Impressive. 8th round draft pick, Exumé. I’m going to go with Nichols scrambling abilities on 2 of those TDs. Busted coverage indicates poor cover by the DBs. Clearly, our intended receivers were initially covered but Nichols did extend the play, therefore giving the receivers time to lose their cover guys. Score those two for Nichols .

The call on Alexander was a joke.

Nichols didn't put up gawdy yardage but he did make 2 TD's happen by extending plays with his feet until a reciever could get open.

Good Morning Ripper - I have no issue with your comments - they are just your opinion and that is what a forum is for. HOWEVER (note that I did cap the however) you are granted much more tolerance here on this site that I would get posting over to your teams site (Riderfans.com). A small sample size, but is anyone still worried about this OL? I’m not. Gray is giving some licks out there. Speller was one of the lead blocker on one of Harris big scamper. Couture didn’t have a bad snap. ...and helping Harris with 148 rushing yards for Harris. Them playing more minutes together will only help this OL get more chemistry.

I loved the way Gray played. He was the reason for several Lion temper tantrums. He gave a Lion the rock bottom on our last possession. Imo, the OL was definitely the biggest positive in the game.

OL looked really good as others have said. Gray had some good blocks, to my eye a few plays at least where he just pancaked guys and he seems like a mean SOB who gets under people's skin. When was the last time a CFL team was held to 4 yards rushing?

Based on expectations : More than anything the oline really impressed me. And we're missing Neufeld? Yeesh. Bunch of our new guys did not look new at all. I guess because as people have been saying... They're not really new. Props to Speller, Couture, and Gray. The new bash brothers

I think it was Hecht that called demonstratively for MOS to challenge the catch that would have given the Leo’s a big first down. The review showed an incompletion and it seemed to suck BC’s enthusiasm at that point.

There were definitely a couple phantom calls against us that game that extended their drives. That was annoying. 3 Stars 1. The beef 2. The chicken 3. The bacon Happy Hotdog: the hotdog OUTRAGEOUS GAME
