I really think Wolitarsky is being criminally underused .. this guy just screams Jason Clermont to me .. that's a body that could be used in the slot.

He did make an effort. He started running, realized he wasn't going to catch the guy and that was it. He had absolutely zero chance of catching him. Of all the stupid things he did that game, people are complaining about a play in which he had no chance of making a play (besides the throw).

I can't believe more people aren't recognizing this. For anyone with the game still on PVR (or if anyone knows where to find the game online, link me and I'll point it out) go to about 6min left in the 1st quarter. BLM passes over the middle to a wide open rec. So wide open that there was literally no one else on the screen but the rec for a huge gain into the red zone. On the next play Calg runs the ball, picks up a few yards. On second down BLM throws one into the ground to another wide open rec. Rod Black says something inane like the D steps up for Wpg but in reality they did nothing and it had nothing to do with being gassed. Had BLM been sharp in the first half the game would have been out of reach long before the 4th. But...I guess some people only see what they want to see.

And the way you see things: 'the fact the he wasn't sharp could not possibly have had anything to do with the Bombers' pressure.' unquote I don't see how people can say we the D wasn't generating pressure. Calgary's second half adjustment was adding more blockers at the line of scrimmage.

This is also true of our QB when he misses open receivers and guys drop balls. It’s a football game when anything can happen because of pressure or bumps, or a case of dropsies..or penalties. (Like the Ottawa game) C’mon. It’s a game. The would haves and could haves are not part of it. There would be way too many. Very few games are played cleanly. The results are an indication of many things. Execution being a major one. And it works, or not, for both teams.
  14. 3 points
Is he seriously good enough to replace Hardrick right out of the blocks? I kind of doubt it, I think it would take him a good year of playing experience to begin to match the skill level of a vet. import O.T. even if he has all of the physical tools to excel.
  15. 3 points
Question is, does Gray want to establish a storied football career he can be proud of or does he want to toil in obscurity chasing a rabbit he might never catch and retire anonymously like Bilikudi and Mulamba did?

Please don't "fix" anything I've written. You're welcome to your OWN opinion. I don't consider much of what players say, in-year, of much value. If he says he's 100%, I don't believe it. And, he's still one of the best QBs in the league (my opinion). One of a very few who can do what he does at the level he does (a fact).

Sometimes though a QB is missing guys for a reason...due to the defense..pressure forcing him to throw early...coverage disguise where he thinks the defender is going to do..or be somewhere and he tries to through receiver open and both aren't on same page...many things To simply say a QB missed his throws and we were lucky for it...or it could have been worse if...is plain dumb...it goes both ways...you can say the same with a db missing a jump ball 50/50 chance...or a lineman getting held up just a bit to miss a sack....saying oh man..Joe Dude would have had 3 sacks in the first half and snuffed out 3 scoring drives if he didn't miss those easy sacks...or Willy Defender could have had a pick six there if he didn't lolly gag and play sub par for the first half BLM hasn't looked elite now for the better part of the last half of last season and this one..other than in minor spurts here and there

Yes. This is the kind of guy you break the bank for. Drop a imp DE, drop wild, lots of places to save money. Flip loffler to another team, slide mo to S, play fenner at sam start gray. Does he start right away? I mean with hardrick out and the OL struggling last week its a good time to slip him in. Idk if we do though. I could see our management easing him in over a few weeks.

Some of these guys don't want to give up on the dream of playing in the NFL, when in reality they really don't belong there, no shame playing in the CFL making a really good living and having a great career, not that my opinion matters to Gray or any other player in his situation but I know what I would do.

That’s a great question. Better chance of accolades in the CFL (all star, awards) than if you’re a fringe NFL’er. But, maybe it’s a money question too. An agent may crunch the numbers and if you can make the 53 man roster in the NFL for say 4 years, at the minimum salary, you probably net more $ than an 8 year CFL starter. That said, I really think he should come back soon. Don’t think he’s NFL material, but would be great here

Don't forget that after the D finished last in just about every statistical category last season, that MOS said he would be taking a larger role in running the D this year. So don't be layin' it on Richie alone. Mike "we need more pressure Richie" O'Shea is involved in helping keep the D a finely-tuned machine.
