June 25, 20169 yr comment_203126 It's a good pick but he probably would have been there at 22. I don't mind it but giving up 22 and 36 is not smart
June 25, 20169 yr comment_203148 Kid will be a project no doubt but his skating started to improve last year and if his feet can get quicker he could have some upside. Huge with a mean streak will probably be more defense than offence Edited June 25, 20169 yr by bustamente

June 25, 20169 yr comment_203260 Insane that Chia wasn't able to make a deal happen to get the big top pairing D he wanted. One of the talking heads tweeted yesterday "If Chia can't make it happen here, then it can't be done..." and that's pretty much it. There's so few legit top pairing D and nobody's willing to part with one for less than a king's ransom, and Chia's not stupid. Lots of talk that by taking Puljujarvi, they now have a bit of freedom to trade one of their 6m Core guys....we'll see if anything happens over the next week, leading up to FA Day...

Gets me thinking he might be trade bait for a quality dman they desperately need and right know he's technically an unproven commodity that they can use to their advantage. Edmonton gets things just given to them, yeesh.
June 25, 20169 yr comment_203292 Awwww ... you gotta love the draft and the reaction of the family ... Wait a minute ... did this kid just watch the Bomber game? Edited June 25, 20169 yr by IC Khari
June 25, 20169 yr comment_203324 Jets loading up on D men this draft. Round 3 selection: D (shoots right) - Luke Green http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=195389 Quote An excellent offensive defenceman whose killer instincts in the offensive zone allow him to materialize scoring chances. Very shifty skater who is highly mobile. Good puckhandling ability and puck control; makes quick decisions with the puck in traffic and under pressure. Reliable defensively, but is much more effective when utilizing his offensive tools at the other end of the ice. All-in-all, a smart, smooth-skating defenceman who can play in most situations and excel in an offensive position. (Curtis Joe, EP 2015) - See more at: http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=195389#sthash.tkFHZFlV.dpuf Round 4 selection: D (shoots right) - Jacob Cederholm http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=169012 Quote Cederholm is an aggressive shutdown defenseman with limited offensive skills. Has a big body and skates well enough for someone of his size. Excellent reach and does well in 1-on-1 situations. Will not wow anyone with his offensive tools or puck skills. Good team player with leadership qualities, however. - See more at: http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=169012#sthash.SylhEJ36.dpuf
June 25, 20169 yr Author comment_203330 Yeah Green was rated higher and seems to have one try of upside. Decent size at 18 years old the other guy is already 6'3". And he was also ranked higher. Jets clearly feel they need to restock the D and those are both good picks. Along with with Logan they have some food options for the future.

Kid from Brandon with decent skill and speed and a frame with room to grow. Could be another important pick down the road. He's also older, missing last years draft by five days so he might be a year ahead developmentally. Good pick.
June 25, 20169 yr Author comment_203350 Rumours the offer was from Columbus. Saad, 2017 1st, 2016 2nd, "something else" for Jets #2.
June 25, 20169 yr comment_203351 Berdin has potential to be very good. He's a steal where he was drafted.

In EDM they are already calling the picking of Pul as the next pairing of Gretzky/Kurri and i don't think they are wrong thinking that. 3 minutes ago, Rich said: Round 6: Russian Goalie Mikhail Berdin Game 1 starter
June 25, 20169 yr Author comment_203355 Noticing a trend. Jets' picks all steals. Are they that good or are we all homers?
June 25, 20169 yr Author comment_203359 Finland should have strong interest in winter classic and alumni games.

June 25, 20169 yr comment_203375 And our last pick is traded away. Weird trade. Must be no one we wanted or deferring picks to lighten the amount of contracts we may need to carry.
