May 24, 20169 yr comment_197207 I was never a big Hip fan but I remember vividly how massive they were in the mid to late 90's. Very sad news. Good for them for doing a final tour. That must be incredibly emotional.
May 24, 20169 yr comment_197217 Very sad news. The musical voice of Canada, for many. I'm glad I've seen them live a few times already, I'm sure that final tour will be tough to get into.
May 24, 20169 yr comment_197225 Wow. Just wow. Growing up in Pinawa in the mid-to-late 90s, they were THE band in our school. I remember vividly the first time I heard Road Apples, Fully Completely, and Trouble At The Henhouse.....
May 24, 20169 yr comment_197230 Not a huge fan but this is terrible news. The Hip were pretty huge and their tour will be pretty Damn emotional
May 24, 20169 yr comment_197253 yeah **** cancer. Sometimes on roadtrips my American wife and I will wind up listening to a bunch of Hip and I get to explain all the Canadianisms in it: why 1972 was a big year, the FLQ murders, Bobcaygeon, etc.
May 24, 20169 yr comment_197289 Gord Downie is a rare talent. This is just awful news. I call myself a Hip fan, and it's true, but I know some guys that worship the Hip; they never miss a show, they know all the b-sides, and they'd probably fight anyone that talks **** about the Hip. I feel for Gord, the band, and all their fans. Grace, Too performed on Saturday Night Live: http://www.pinkbike.com/video/125904/ Also, **** cancer. Edited May 24, 20169 yr by MOBomberFan
