January 6, 20169 yr comment_177290 Only Helle should have got a star... Jets were totally outplayed except for the last three minutes
January 6, 20169 yr Author comment_177293 I remember(flashback machine set to 1980s) where the other teams player would step on ice if named a star. They still do that?

January 7, 20169 yr comment_177421 They do it here 2... at times. Not always but most of the time they do
January 7, 20169 yr comment_177426 It wouldn't surprise that if, by the time the Jets catch the Preds, that the Ducks have passed them both.
January 7, 20169 yr comment_177427 Ducks can get 3rd or 2nd in Pacific still. Check out the Pacific and central. If Jets were in the Pacific they would be tied for 3rd. 1 point up on the ducks. Central they are last. Top 3 in each division make the playoffs and the 2 wild card teams will be From the central. What appears somewhat likely is the jets will finish with more points than every pacific team except LA yet won't make the playoffs. Edited January 7, 20169 yr by Goalie
January 7, 20169 yr comment_177442 I heard a laughable conversation that we may have a "goalie controversy" when Pav is back... as far as I'm concerned there is no controversy.... Hellebyuck is the best goalie, no question about it...
January 8, 20169 yr comment_177554 You know those spectacular saves PAV makes? You know why he makes them? because he's out of position lots. Helle isn't. Helle is the better goalie and has the brighter future. There is no goalie controversy, The only goalie controversy would be... Who do you send down or trade... Hutch or Pav... Right now, I'd say you try to move Pav only because he's making 2 much cash to be a back up.
January 8, 20169 yr comment_177572 Westwood summed it up pretty good in my opinion. He thinks they waive Hutch to the Moose and he likely clears. Pavs settles in as the back-up for his final season with the Jets.
January 8, 20169 yr comment_177576 4.5 million dollar back-up? I hope they buy him out this off-season then. Cuz that's way too much.
January 8, 20169 yr comment_177577 $3.9, no? He has a contract so there are limited options if he cant be traded unless they play him as the starter simply because of what he makes. I dont see the Jets buying him out. I like Pavs. But I think all things being equal, I'd rather re-sign Hutch (to what would be a good deal after his play this season) as the backup to Helle and move Pavs. But easier to move on from Hutch than Pavs.
January 8, 20169 yr comment_177578 Pavelec is awful tho, He's not good. He's never been good and never will be. I buy him out or trade him and retain some salary if i have 2. Anything to get him away from the Jets and more importantly away from Helle. Jet's don't need him.
January 8, 20169 yr comment_177579 Also, since Helle is still on his entry deal, if Pavs is the back up, the combined salary for goalies isnt bad. I think they Jets would look at it that way. Or its possible they see it as a position where they can save some money for a couple of years.
