September 9, 20159 yr comment_150677 WINNIPEG, MB., September 9, 2015 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has acquired Edmonton’s best second round selection in 2016, and International offensive lineman Selvish Capers in exchange for National offensive lineman Chris Greaves. Edmonton holds two selections in the second round of the 2016 CFL Draft – their own and Saskatchewan’s – and the club has acquired the higher of those two picks. Capers (6-5, 308, West Virginia, November 15, 1986, in New Orleans, LA) has spent the past two seasons with Edmonton. He started nine games in 2014,, playing seven at tackle and two at guard. “With the depth we feel we have accumulated at this spot, we felt strongly about acquiring a pick in the second round of next year’s draft, as well as a lineman with some experience in this league,” said Blue Bombers General Manager Kyle Walters. “Chris has been a very valuable member of our organization for six seasons now, both on and off the field, and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers sincerely thank him for everything he has done for this team, and our community.”

September 9, 20159 yr comment_150679 Wow...The Riders second rounder will likely be the 10th overall pick...almost like a first round pick.
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150680 This was a long time coming....interesting to see what Capers can do.

September 9, 20159 yr comment_150682 im very much ok with this. greaves is pretty much losing his welcome here. why not get a return value for hin instead of just cutting him.
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150684 No complaints here. Seems like a solid flip of a no longer useful player to me. No longer useful to us, that is. Good luck in EDM Chris. Edited September 9, 20159 yr by MOBomberFan
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150686 I like this trade, Capers will start (we can afford to use one less national) and a 2nd rounder is always great.
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150687 Anyone know if Capers is any good and what his contract term is?
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150688 Very rare to trade a starting Canadian O-lineman. They must feel that the Goose is ready.
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150689 Wonder if Walters is reading this board, starting to notice and recognizing the gravity of the fans anger
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150690 I'm looking at this like we lost a completely useless player in exchange for something. Goosen at the very least can fill in for Greaves
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150691 Looks like its possible that the bombers are going to go with 3 import OL in the future
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150692 He was part of the O-Line that helped Pat White and Steve Slaton set their crazy college records. Neato. Also can line up as a tight end.
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150693 If this kid is in any way related to Byron Capers, I like it that much more.......
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150695 Looks like its possible that the bombers are going to go with 3 import OL in the future I'm OK with that
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150697 Great trade. Greaves was probably going to be asked to take a pay cut or be handed his walking papers in the off season. Who's our starting left guard now?
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150699 Great trade. Greaves was probably going to be asked to take a pay cut or be handed his walking papers in the off season. Who's our starting left guard now? My guess is Neufeld with Capers at RT.
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150701 Capers started at tackle and at guard for Edmonton so probably him?
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150705 Good trade for us. Wonder what Edmonton was thinking? I guess Greaves is better than a DT through.
September 9, 20159 yr comment_150706 Bryant Neufeld Picard Chungh Capers? Bryant Longo Picard Chungh Capers? Either way. Seems like a help.
