Posted August 6, 20159 yr comment_139799 Some people have made mention that the current quote system on the board make it difficult to read some posts, and if you hit the maximum, you need to delete the quotes yourself. This is a configurable setting and is currently set to the default 10. I could bump this up but it would mean some really ugly posts when they all quoted, especially on mobile devices. I can make it lower than people would have to manually remove quotes more often. Or I can make it so only the last post is quoted and the quoted parts aren't carried over. This may make some posts hard to follow if they don't have the whole history. What would you like to see?
August 6, 20159 yr comment_139806 Having to scroll and scroll and scroll though the quotes on the mobile version is absolutely dreadful. 10 is nonsense.
August 6, 20159 yr comment_139816 I don't like the only the last quote showing feature, 3 or 4 to me is a good number. 10 is too high and I always try and crop ones going too far back out anyway, but in a lot of cases you need the context of a couple posts back.
August 6, 20159 yr comment_139817 Having to scroll and scroll and scroll though the quotes on the mobile version is absolutely dreadful. 10 is nonsense. Makes it practically unreadable. I voted for 'last post quoted' but 17 makes a god point about lost context.

My thoughts as well...I voted Last Post Quoted, but a couple more wouldn't hurt.....5 would be too many I think. 10 is bordering on obscene...
August 6, 20159 yr Author comment_139822 I agree you lose a lot of context with just the last post. I think I had this setting at a lower number before and ended up making it higher. The problem is if you hit the limit and have to manually delete some old posts, that is very difficult to do on a mobile device as well. I don't really like any of the options. I need to find something where if the limit is 5, it would just automatically delete the posts above 5, you shouldn't have to do it manually. Might need to research this a bit more.
August 6, 20159 yr comment_139828 Option three. It's extremely messy having multiple quotes in one post.

You may lose context, but generally, I read through all of the posts anyways. One quote is neater (not taking into account using multiquote).

As noted with these ^ selections, 2-3 quotes should be plenty to get the gist of what is being said. Otherwise you might actually have to (gasp) manually look back.
August 6, 20159 yr comment_139842 Bump it up to 20. Unreadable nested quotes is a historic trademark of Blue Bomber forums.
August 6, 20159 yr comment_139871 Lost context around these parts is sometimes inevitable no matter how many quotes you allow. Keep it to a minimum, and we'll all become smarter for it.
August 6, 20159 yr comment_139883 I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS! winged freak terrorizes...wait'll they get a load of me GET TO THE CHOPPA!!! I don't see what the problem is. Maximum quote settings seem to be working fine over on my end
August 6, 20159 yr comment_139894 I voted for the last entry to be quoted. It gets a bit ridiculous scrolling through multi-quotes sometimes.
August 6, 20159 yr comment_139912 I voted for 1, but anything between 1 and 5 would be better than what we have now.
August 7, 20159 yr comment_139946 3 to 5 seems like it would work fine in most situations. By the way, the Riders are 0-6.

August 7, 20159 yr comment_140081 Rider fans only uses one and I don't have many problems following the conversation there. Anywhere between 1-5 would be a big improvement.
August 7, 20159 yr comment_140100 2 would be fine for me. Or if we need more my vote is for between 17 to 85
August 7, 20159 yr comment_140132 1-5 would be swell.. But only if we set rider fans who post here to 13 lol
August 7, 20159 yr comment_140200 3 ish but figure out how to have the system remove them. It is a pain the way this software does quoting.
