UFA and RFA

That would be one of our first round picks, Josh Morrissey, and Mark Scheifele.

Ask high and go down from there?

I guess, ya....way to much to give up.

Someone is going to regret the deal they give Beleskey.

Morrissey, 25th & Burmi for Hanifin?  Yes that's probably a no-brainer.  Shores up the D immediately and adds a guy people compare to Keith.  Would make you wonder what the D looks like in 3-5 years with Hanifin/Trouba.

Yotes are supposedly well below the Cap floor and will need some salary.  Any thought they might look at a guy like Buff?  He's a superstar that might help sell tickets, adds some needed salary without a commitment beyond this season.

Below cap and yet lose 20m a year. Aaaiiieee!

Swap Morrissey for Buff and I would do this trade in a heartbeat.  But why Hanifin over Strome?  I get the upside to Hanifin but there is no guarantee he is the next Keith.  And true enough that Strome may not be the next Getzlaf but wouldn't a top end forward be of more use to the Jets right now?

After Rich made his post on Hanifin I read up about him for an hour or so. If Hanifin hits his potential, he will be an elite player contending for the Norris in his prime. He has excellent leadership skills and is NHL ready. Hanifin and Troubs playing against the other team's top lines would look really nice. Also, he wouldn't cost the team much for a few years.

I'd offer the Coyotes Buff, Armia, Toby, our 17th and Stuart for their 3rd and Ekman-Larsson. They're giving up a 3rd overall and a great D-man and getting 3 D-men, a prospect and a first rounder.

We end up with a 3rd and another great LHD and a chance to take another LHD (Hanifin).

We also give them about 14.5 m of caphit and take back 5.5 m.

They need defencemen and caphit.

We need LHD.

Our D would look like Trouba - Hanifin

Myers - Ekman-Larsson

Postma-Chiarot

We wouldn't be losing any roster players (forwards)  and still have the 1st rounder from the Bufflao trade.

You think Buff would get y ou the 3rd overall AND a prospect? Toby too?

Buff is aging and is a UFA next year.  He'd get you more going to a team that sees him as the missing piece of the puzzle.  Arizona will want younger players that can grow with their core and keep costs down.  Though they do need a couple of vets to hit the salary floor.

I just heard something about the Canucks inquiring about Lucic.....MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

who knows we've all seen how Lucic has done, and I actually do want to see it happen for more reasons than one

I don't think Toby or Buff would get you the 3rd overall AND a prospect.

Toby too small, too high a contract.

If DB was under contract for a couple years...maybe but even then I doubt it but it's AZ and they might be ripe for a pickin.

Rentals last year got a first and prospect at trade deadline so trading buff now would get u more. Toby so under rated by some. He'd easily get a first plus plus

Toby wouldn't get you this year's 3rd and a prospect, believe me.....

Babcock likes Toby, send him to TO for their 4th overall and their 3rd rounder.

Dogs probably take a center and then it leaves the Jets to pick Hanifin, if that's the player they want.

No but Arizona has no need for Toby. They got Ekman Larsson as their number 1 LHD and that's what Toby is. A number 1 LHD on many teams in the league. He's a d man first. Guess some ppl think you could have 6 buffs on d and win but u can't. Why would u move him to Toronto. They are rebuilding. It makes no sense. Plus who would be our number 1 D a rookie like hanifin or Morrissey Stuart Chiarot? Please

Source involved with talks between #nhljets and Drew Stafford says they "are working hard," on putting a deal together #bn

**I find this interesting.  Why wouldnt Stafford wil til Wednesday?

Maybe the offers out there for him aren't any better than what the Jets are offering and he would prefer to stay if the Jets just bump theirs up a bit.

Honestly believe that having actual fans and noise at games plays a role for a guy like Stafford - he knew what winning was once... a long time ago...

Could shape up as...

Ladd-Little-Wheeler

Ehlers-Scheifele-Stafford

Perrault-Lowry-Copp

Thorburn-ODell-Peluso

Frolik would really help that lineup... unless Petan or Armia steps up, still pretty young though
