@DidierRDS: None of the 12 Canadians attending the Giants rookie minicamp has been offered a contract. #CFL #CIS

  • Well, for me, I'm going back to the only draft I can rely on...   …………..don't care how many rounds it takes!

  • No, he signed right after the draft, he wasn't a mini camp guy.

Most of the top talent is getting their NFL shots.  Used to push guys down a lot, but is is better to pick a guy high that you really want assuming he won't stick this year?  For the first time this year Demski seems like a good choice to me.

Jacob Ruby to Giants mini-camp.
Alex Mateas to Jets mini-camp
Daryl Waud to Giants mini-camp; Redskins mini-camp
Byron Archambault to Giants mini-camp
Sean McEwan to Giants mini-camp
Sukh Chung to Giants mini-camp
Tevaughn Campbell to Giants mini-camp

Maxx Forde to Seahawks mini-camp

Brandon Bridge to Lions mini-camp

LeMar Durant to Giants mini-camp

Tyler Varga signed by Colts

Brett Boyko signed by Eagles

Lame. So now instead of wondering if they are gonna go south.. We KNOW they are gonna go south but still don't know who stays or comes back...

Sigh. This early draft concept wasn't as effective at clearing stuff up as I had hoped..

And another one to the Giants' mini-camp...

Official: Canadian and @SFU receiver Lemar Durant (@Lemarvelous23) has accepted a mini-camp invite from the #Giants. #NFL

From Penton:

@PentonKirk: @garrettbillan1 Its not common to go from minicamp to contract.

@PentonKirk: @garrettbillan1 We'll have to wait to see how minicamps go. Most are next weekend, I believe.

@PentonKirk: @garrettbillan1 Not yet. I assume he'll get a shot, too. (Referring to Groulx)

That was the goal of setting the CFL date 10 days after the NFL date. They should know a lot more come May 11th.

This is great news. Only 2 Canadians got actual contract offers, so it sounds like a majority of these mini-camp invites could turn into nothing, and CFL GMs should have a good indication of a players standing in the NFL right before the CFL draft on May 12.

Giants minicamp May 8-9.  Hopefully we'll all know more about signings before the CFL draft May 12.

Demski not getting an NFL shot?  Better for us so we take him #2 or does he drop because he didn't get the NFL shot that a dozen other top NI's got?

Considering the number of Canadians the Giants invited to their mini-camp, those dates are perfect (May 8-9).  Let's just hope Walters or someone in the Bombers organization has some connections with he Giants to find out those players standings and likelihood of them getting offers, if they haven't already received them by May 12.
