It lacked action, plodding storyline & horrible ending. They can remaster that film all they want. However, a pig with lipstick is still a pig.

Roddenberry had to make all kinds of promises in order to get a second one made.

The studio didn't want him but they didn't know how to fire him so they gave him an office. He would grab the script everyday & rewrite it. Then there was a problem with the special effects company they hired for the movie. The job was too much & most of the special effects had to be redone becausae they were awful. There was a hard deadline for the film to hit movie screens & a week or two before the premiere they were still writing the script & trying to keep Gene Rodenberry out of their hair which is why the ending makes no sense. It was rushed & the film was completed just days before the premiere.

It's about Picard's death and dealing with mortality.

March 3, 20232 yr comment_623028 That entire Discovery series should have been called Star Trek: Lost... Plot lines were grey & cloudy. Some things made no sense at all. Like the Klingons. The 2 greatest villains they had they got rid of... Lorca & Georgiou. Lots of crying every episode from Captain Burnham. Everything was so huggy feely. My gosh what a happy ship. Buh bye. Get lost.
