You've done about 30 mock lineups. One of them is bound to be right.

I hope they don't even consider play Ehlers on the 4th line next year. If he can't crack the top 9 send him back.

Stafford - Scheifele - Wheeler

Ladd - Little - Perreault

Ehlers - Lowry - Frolik

Stempniak - O'Dell - Thorburn

O'Dell depends on if he gets signed and if Copp signs this summer. Copp might be able to make the jump. Not a for sure but a possibility.

If Stafford and/or Frolik don't sign, put Burmistrov somewhere in that lineup. If they both sign with term, then say goodbye to Burmi this summer, unless he wants to sign for < 1.5 mill, then put him at the 4C.

Enstrom - Myers

Chiarot - Byfuglien

Morrissey - Trouba

This is what I wish but likely Stuart will be in there over Chiarot or Morrissey depending on how well Morrissey shows at camp this year.

Hutchinson and Pavelec to start the year. Hellebuyck will hopefully be given a decent chance though.

I wonder though, if Pavs plays well to end the year and playoffs, could we trade him for something and then let Hutch and Hellebuyck take the reins. Kind of a gamble to go in with a sophomore and a rookie but i think that would look nice.

I forgot about Armia.  Also forgot about Burmi.  lol

Jets are going to look different next season.

As for Ehlers, what is best for his development in the case of not being good enough to be an every-shift NHL player?  Go back to junior and dominate and get bigger and stronger and more confident with the option of the AHL the following year?  Or play poorly, get benched/scratched, lose confidence in the NHL?  You really have to send him back.  In fact the decision isnt even about him being too good for Juniors.  If he's not good enough for the NHL he doesnt stay...if that means the AHL, that's great.  In this case it means sending him to the best level he is eligable for.

Maurice

Then again if this team doesn't make the playoffs, it's possible we see some bigger changes

Maurice reiterated recently his earlier claim that when meeting with Chevy to discuss the job offer last year, Chevy said if the team didnt turn around they would be shipping out some guys and "getting younger".

Stafford-Scheifele-Wheeler

Ladd-Little-Frolik

Ehlers-Perrault-Lowry

Thorburn-ODell-Armia

(Peluso, Halischuk)

Trouba-Stuart

Myers-Enstrom

Buff-Chiarot

(Postma, Harrison)

I'd much rather see Perreault play the wing. Lowry has all the makings of a prototypical 3rd line centre for years and years...

Either way... but Perrault is one of the best faceoff men in the league.

Second line when he hits his prime (hopefully).

He said if the team hadn't made the playoffs or weren't in contention, they would be dealing assets and getting younger...they were buyers this deadline, which is what they wanted to be, so you would think he won't be wanting to get younger. Looking for the interview but I can't find it...
