* With Thursday's demotion of starting quarterback Buck Pierce in Winnipeg, the wolves are starting to line up at Bomber GM Joe Mack's door. The rumour persists that the Bombers may look to Eric Tillman as their next GM. That suggestion was floated in this space some time ago but was scoffed at by Winnipeg media types. Don't be so sure. However another name has been circulating regarding the imminent GM opening in Winnipeg and it belongs to current Roughrider assistant GM Jeremy O'Day.

* To clarify a point in Friday's column -- the Blue Bombers are NOT actively pursuing Eric Tillman as their next GM. However the rumour stands that he COULD be in line for the job. A few have told me Bomber President Garth Buchko is good friends with Eskimo President Len Rhodes and therefore this scenario would never happen.Ummmmm, so what? The Eskimos are the model franchise now? And the Bombers can afford tobe choosy with their track record?Just sayin'.

What a tool. In Calgary here, one of our stupid daily newspapers (Herald) feels it's their friggin duty to publish one of his columns about 3 times a week during the CFL season because so... many... Rider... fans... live in our city. Screw them. Screw Rod Pederson. Same Rod Pederson who defended Rider fans throwing objects at the BC Lions bench a few years ago at Mosaic.
