Two sources have just told me offensive co-ordinator Rick Worman has been fired by the #Als, barely more than a week into training camp.

Weird if true. Must have done something really dumb or ticked Popp off.

They hire a head coach the GM didn't want, and then they fire their OC before the first preseason game.

Nope. CFO takes me to kings head for power lunches. Not much happens in the afternoon following it.

Maybe. But I find it strange that a guy with a good reputation as a coach would suddenly start drinking in front of his players. It just doesn't make sense. I know Rick Worman personally. I talked to him a few months ago. It just seems so out of character & so sad for the man. 

 

What's so wrong with having a few pops when you have a meeting with Jim Popp?  I'd be confused too.

Id be somewhat surprised if he was fired for having one beer one time.  Has to be more than that.  But lets be honest - some places dont mind a couple of drinks at lunch but most do.  I used to work for a place where it was okay to get a hummer in the bathroom.  Doesnt meant thats the norm.

For an organization that is supposed to be a model franchise and what not they sure seem to have a lot of weird **** go down there.

I would like to know the context of this as it seems like overkill to be fired over consumption of a single beer unless he had a serious drinking problem.  Did the club make beer available in the clubhouse or did he bring it in himself???....If they came off practice and it was hot or muggy and the guy doesn't drink pop but was reeeal thirsty...

I sense Jim Popp is also on "rubber legs"....
