March 31, 201411 yr comment_45492 Wouldn't the correct spelling of his name be BIGJOEMUFFERAW Which is exactly how I sound after a dozen or so Whiskeys

March 31, 201411 yr comment_45494 Yknow...I'm only 34 but when I come here I may as well be 84. Stompin' Tom is timeless. Age is no excuse for not knowing about him. My son is 7 and one of his favourite songs is Margo's Cargo.

April 1, 201411 yr comment_45518 Sigh...kow-towing to the French yet again... Except in the Capital Region, the French are a sizable community. 15% have French as a first language, and over 35% are bilingual. Why they wouldn't come up with a French version of the name to begin with is the real question. But also, why did coming up with a French version mean shortening the English one? Everything this team does makes you scratch your head. Are they trying to emulate the Bombers circa 2012-13?
April 1, 201411 yr comment_45529 The name was far too long for a mascot anyways. Big Joe or Grand Jos will work way better for them.
April 2, 201411 yr comment_45627 Mufferaw was probably offensive to both females and people who eat cooked food.. both demographics promised a riot
April 2, 201411 yr comment_45636 Wasnt he a Francophone folk hero? Why was that offensive to Francophones? I assumed it was because he'd surely be called Big Muff.
April 2, 201411 yr comment_45640 Wasnt he a Francophone folk hero? Why was that offensive to Francophones? ...Because everything is offensive to them...
April 2, 201411 yr comment_45643 Wasnt he a Francophone folk hero? Why was that offensive to Francophones? According to the link posted by comedygeek, French Canadians use his actually surname of Montferrand - Mufferaw was originally a spelling used by people who couldn't spell the name properly. Or maybe they had a problem with a real folk hero being used as a mascot.
