February 6, 201411 yr Author comment_38388 Sorenson is slow, he is one of the worst centres in the league. Yet he is better than kowalczuk. I never said baboulas should be starting but given that he has exp and there is no one else out there... Maybe we should have looked. Myddleton is really the only option for us - or maybe greaves? Morley got benched last year and now someone is suggesting we move him to the middle... You guys crack me up. I am totally open to suggestions how to improve the OL... Feel free to suggest something instead of criticizing my post.
February 6, 201411 yr comment_38419 Offer Josh Bourke the most $ for an OL's contract. Draft Lavertu with the #2 pick. Sign Mydelton. Go January Greaves Lavertu Mydelton (or Pencer or Swiston) Neufeld
February 6, 201411 yr comment_38421 Imagine getting Josh Bourke and having Patrick Neufeld healthy and good enough to start at RT, then all of a sudden we have an all-Canadian OL and things are looking pretty good for us, ratio-wise. Dare to dream...
February 6, 201411 yr comment_38423 Some "news" on Emry and Bourke: WELCOME TO RETURN Popp is still trying to sign a pair of key potential free agent Canadians in offensive lineman Josh Bourke and middle linebacker Shea Emry. “We’ve been negotiating hard,” Popp said of Emry. “I talked to him again today. I woke his butt up in Vancouver this morning. We want him back. He’s one of our guys we drafted and invested in and want to be playing his whole career with us. That’s our plan, and whether he chooses to go somewhere else, that’s his decision.” The same goes for Bourke, who is a ratio breaker because he lines up at left tackle and is one of the league’s best at the position. Popp isn’t sure if Bourke wants to dip his toe in the free agent waters. “I don’t know. There’s a couple things with Josh, but I think deep down he’d rather be in Montreal,” Popp said. http://www.torontosun.com/2014/02/05/hard-to-believe-alouettes-functioning-as-normal
February 6, 201411 yr comment_38465 I think Pencer will be a sleeper in camp. He had one of his first offseasons where he did not have to rehab from an injury.
February 6, 201411 yr Author comment_38473 Does anyone remember what Walter's comments were on Swiston? Didn't he say something about injuries... just wondering if he is still in the picture
February 6, 201411 yr comment_38474 He said he has been in tough the past couple camps because he had spent the offseasons rehabbing instead of being purely focused working exclusively for the up coming season.
February 6, 201411 yr Author comment_38476 Strange that after so many years of hoping for a 4 NI line, it might happen. Also strange that I'm disappointed we won't see Jarvis Jones.

Why wouldn't we see him? You think he will beat out January...? I would think January is pretty much a lock just due to his experience...

February 6, 201411 yr comment_38523 Ratio - assemble the best group of NIPs that you can and let TC sort out the ratio. Trying ti pre script the ratio can be difficult. The other challenge with pre scripting is that injuries can often dictate a ratio shuffle. In the ideal world teams have the luxury of starting 8 quality NIPs.
February 6, 201411 yr comment_38643 I really hope this year's draft proves successfull for us. We really need a constant contributor with our #2 overall pick.
February 6, 201411 yr comment_38670 Pretty confident we buck our tradition and actually draft a cfl ready lineman, either on O or D.. Either one would make sense, o-line more so... Unless Walters has his eye on some FAs and thinks our young guns are ready to step up..
February 13, 201411 yr comment_40572 I wonder if a rotation combo of Lucas/Thomas could address one non-import spot on the DL? Are they good enough to be regular starters? That would allow us to start 2 imports on the OL (January & Jones), 1 NI at safety/DB and 2 NI WRs. There's the 7 NIs.
February 13, 201411 yr comment_40575 The more I look at the roster, the more options I see for NI spots:Possible options:DL (1 spot): Lucas/ThomasDB/Safety (1-2 spots): Newman, Bucknor, Muamba, RobertsonWR (2 spots): Watson, KolhertOL (3-4 spots): Greaves, Neufeld, Morley, Kowalczuk, Pencer, Swiston, Lavertu(?)
February 13, 201411 yr comment_40577 since Tardif might get an NFL sniff, i've got a feeling that Ott will screw us and pick Lavertu as #1 overall, knowing he is our top choice.
February 13, 201411 yr comment_40578 since Tardif might get an NFL sniff, i've got a feeling that Ott will screw us and pick Lavertu as #1 overall, knowing he is our top choice. I agree...a bit. Ottawa has Hage, who is a centre so the need for them isn't as urgent. But there is some talk that Hage might now show up. And Walters said during his presser yesterday that there are 2 top OL prospects in this years draft who project as centres. Lavertu is one. Who is the other?
February 13, 201411 yr comment_40583 Matthias Goosen Are you sure? Because I checked some of his highlites on YouTube and he was playing tackle. I can't find any reports saying he plays or is projected as a centre.

February 13, 201411 yr comment_40585 Awesome...thanks for the link! And that is great news for the Bombers...we are guaranteed to get a centre in the draft (if thats what Walters wants, which I assume it is).
