June 25, 201312 yr comment_6580 I think your topic and body of the post got mixed up. nah... "Hey bluto!" threads were a bit of a tradition on the former Bomber site... it's been a month here so it was about time.
June 25, 201312 yr comment_6582 The Stamps signed Kevin Huntley today... Thought you'd like to know. Not surprising at all. If big Kev is healthy and his shoulder holds together, he'll be a force on that line, a leader in the locker room and a favourite with Stamps fans. Good for them (and him).
June 25, 201312 yr comment_6605 John Murphy has a reputation for recycling players. not sure why "recycling" has such a negative rap with some folks... we have quite a few starters who were standouts for us, but were picked up for little/nothing as their former teams weren't interested in them anymore. just because a team cuts you, it doesn't mean you can't play... sometimes it does, but many times it's because the player didn't fit or the team was going with another option for any number of reasons. guys like Hefney and Huntley will have nice years.
June 25, 201312 yr comment_6610 There are lots of players who have gone from one teams garbage pile to being gems for another team. It all depends on what the fit is like. Remember people, Vega was cut by another team before the bombers brought him in... hell the best example I can think of is Anwar Stewart being a cut from Calgary when they were absolutely terrible but he went to be a star with Montreal. It's all about who fits with what teams.
June 25, 201312 yr comment_6623 And Stewart went back to Calgary and did what? This just proves the point even further. Players can be good with one team and terrible on another. Geez nothing gets by you does it?
June 26, 201312 yr comment_6684 Vega was cut by another team before the bombers brought him in... That would be HAM. Cut in favour of Garret McIntyre.
June 26, 201312 yr comment_6686 And Stewart went back to Calgary and did what? Got old. And to the Grey Cup.
June 26, 201312 yr comment_6689 Yes, thank god they signed Anwar Stewart to put themselves over the top. Surely he was the missing link.
June 26, 201312 yr Author comment_6691 Stewart played well for the Stamps. Helped them to the GC so it was all good.
