With the news that Henoc has NFL workouts lined up, I asked Penton whether he thinks the Bombers will protect him in the expansion draft. Penton figures the Bombers won't protect Henoc.

Small risk, but calculated as I see the logic; very unlikely Ottawa would take him even if only small chance he goes to NFL.

I think they do. They can protect Henoc, Neufeld, Greaves, Watson, Pencer and Swiston. What's the worst that happens, they lose FA Kolhert or Etienne?

yea we are actually lucky in the aspect that we dont have a pile of good canadians to protect and can afford to burn a spot..

I don't think Benevides is that great as a HC so this is actually is still Wally's coaching staff. I wondered how long Chapdelaine would last coaching under Benevides as he felt he should have been the HC..

Kohlert, Watson, Muamba and Greaves are the only NI's that are worth protecting at this point.  Hard to see a reason why we wouldn't protect any of them, regardless of their contract status.
