What are the rules around that again?  I don't pay enough attention to fully grasp the intricacies of these contracts in the new NHL....

I think it's a total of seven or eight games before the first year the ELC is burned up.  And that's throughout the course of the year.  

 

So if it's "burned up" what does that mean exactly?

Didn’t notice it as much for the Bruins game.  Guess people don’t want to venture out in this brutal cold.  Can’t really blame them.

It means that he'll have 2 years left on his contract regardless of how many games he plays this year.  I believe that's also a cap hit for the team.  It's minimal but every dollar counts under the salary cap era.

no change in scoring but considering they've kept Vegas from scoring after 2 I consider that an accomplishment

Ahhhh Stanley...

Vegas isn’t a draw here in the regular season it seems. I went to a game last year vs Vegas and it wasn’t sold out. It’s also minus 30. 

Shoot the damn puck.  Vegas does… and scores.

Appleton, Kupari and others are passing up shots to make ill advised passes.  3rd and 4th liners can’t be making those mistakes.
