  • Hey Ottawa, when you're 2nd and 2 in FG range, just run the freakin ball. Twice if you have to. Don't have the backup QB throw the deep ball. That's where the redblacks lost the game.

Did Marshall Ferguson really just say that Crum will be playing in the loudest building in the CFL, does the water in Regina make people say stupid things.

He was in a situation where Winnipeg had never seen him before, and weren’t ready for his legs. 9/10 times the Bombers win that game.

Also Zach throwing a pick six is as rare as someone in Regina having a bath. Ottawa just had the stars align there. Weird but it happens.

Either kick the field goal or keep Crum in  and let him go get it. Pilgrim lost that chance.

As a coaching staff they are way overthinking it.  Don't they remember the game they played against us?

Have a read play for Crum, hand off up the pooper if the A gaps aren't plugged up, boot out or run the opposite, read the stretch play to RB run Crum up the pooper if anything open A/B.  Third play would be a fake inside run boot pass where Crum can run or toss it over the top to a receiver with 20x40 (800 square) bloody yards to work with.

I said to someone, I don't know if it was here or elsewhere that as the season went along, Dustin Crum would come down to Earth. The more he started the more he would feel the pressure building. Not only to win but to understand the game mentally. Having to know the plays & all the variations & decisions that came off of a single play let alone a complete playbook. Learning to read defenses & make the right decisions on the fly as the starting qb job was handed to him.

The expectations that Crum could mount a winning streak & put the RedBlacks on his shoulders. The realization of just how big a thing it is being a starting qb in the CFL as time goes on. Then the physical side of getting hit every  time he runs. So, then Crum stops doing the one thing that helped him win. He quit running because the coaches don't want him to run so much. He's also come to the realization that the more he learns the less he understands. It's all cumulative. Things are piling up fast & he is probably overwhelmed. And other than Khari, he has no veteran qb around to help him. Forget about Nick Arbuckle...

Teams now have video on Crum. They know his weaknesses. They know how to defend him & beat him. Now playing has become hard for the kid. Not impossible but very difficult. We've seen promising qbs like him come & go because they couldn't handle it. We'll see what happens to Dustin Crum in the weeks ahead. Sink or swim?

So much this, they could've taken the lead, even if SSK answers, you would likely have enough time for a game winning FG attempt

Looks like Crum may have been figured out

I agree with your comments - you have two plays to get two yards with the defense 1 yrd off the LOS. Run it plain and simple at least IMHO.

Yeah I’d say that’s where they lost the game as well. But they got a second chance and had the ball at the one. Go for the TD. If you make it your up by more than a FG. If you don’t make it Sask is pinned on the 1 and you have a good chance of getting the ball back with good field position and still enough time to get your FG.

Yep.  They have QBs who can barely function, but tried to get cute.

Especially that throw. It had to be perfect. Why would Dyce expect Pigrome as an inexperienced rookie could even make that throw in that situation?

Crum was not great, but he was hampered by a mediocre o-line, an offensive coordinator with no imagination and a terrible set of receivers. I don't think any one of them would start for the Bombers.

Jaelen Acklin is terrible.

All satire aside - what it does prove - is that football is a damn hard game to play.
