Bowness wasn't going to speak today, but after virtually every player complained about him during their sessions, the team is making him available to the media so he can answer to it.

PLD one of the few who said he didn't mind, but nearly all the rest were quite upset that he didn't keep it in house.

Curious what Bowness has to say...

Do you have a link you can provide with the complaints from their “sessions”. Upset millionaires aren’t the end of the team.

Some fan you are. Oh sorry I thought that was a criticism against the Jets. Carry on. :-)

Lowry was quoted on Twitter today saying there will be changes this off season. Even players are speaking out. He’s a keeper.

Check out all our beat writers on Twitter... It was quite something. Billeck says there's Tire tread marks all over Bowness from the bus being driven over and backed up over and over again...

Bowness starting now...

Clearly, and it’s quoted, Bowness doesn’t regret what he said other than the disgusted part. Yet he said it and hockey people continue to say he spoke the truth. He also says the message is clear, he’ll never accept that kind of effort in a game like that. Have they even had the exit interviews yet? Is that the “sessions” that you referred to? Sounds like the dissenting players have been caught. That’s the Jet player problem, they can’t handle the truth.

There's been rumblings for what 4-5 years about our locker room being toxic and having major issues. Doesn't this reaction just confirm that?

Lots of fans agree with you. Stastny said it, Kevin Hayes said it. Like the locker room Chipman’s arrogant letter to season tickets holders, the threat, is absurd. That stuff can’t be overlooked. Bowness bringing the players down a peg is a step to improve the team. Chipman should be able to handle it. Failing to recognize the “outing” of the poor play, back from January February, is hiding from the problems. Do fans want the poor effort to continue? Seems some do. Does the organization expect to sell tickets with a less than champion effort? Not addressing the lack of effort is like enabling alcoholics. Bowness did a good thing. A needed intervention. Ripping a band aid is worse than what he revealed.

Handle it internally.....what a bloody joke Wheeler.....That's exactly what a loser says so he can cover his tracks....We had a coach for the Bombers who uttered those sentiments.....Mike Kelly, I believe, had the same schtick when cornered ....'It's being handled internally' was his bull$hit line.....He exited our club like a loser........and the team has been better ever since.....Don't hide crap from the paying public...get it all out and start the renewal for cripes sake....I hope Wheeler is moved (if that's even possible) and Bowness should get a bump in pay for telling it like it is

Both to blame. 26 and 55 believing they are gutting it out putting it all on the table by staying on the ice far too long, playing as an individual not buying into the system, Bowness to blame by not sitting them and being lax with them. Both are all talk (it’s all about the team) no show (actions that don’t match those words).

Here you go. Seems only Scheifele took the high road of “that’s a conversation for me and the coach”. And since you’ve spent over a half dozen posts slagging Wheeler, now do your boys Lowry and Morrissey, the “keepers” on this team who said the exact same thing.

is it possible that the players need to listen fans?

Fans are emotional, over-reactionary, irrational, and hypocritical, among other things. If teams listened to them, Mike O’Shea would have been fired 5 times over by the posters on this board right up to halftime of the 2019 West semi-final. Josh Morrissey would have been traded after his lousy 2020 season, just because he was secretly grieving his dying father, not that any of the chattering masses on social media cared because no one was privy to that personal info. Just to cite two specific local examples.

Fans can vent their spleen but it is pretty ineffectual, or they can express their opinions by refusing to buy tickets - that is what management will listen to. So if everyone who was “so done with this team” would actually back it up by disappearing from all the social media and actually quitting the team and not buy tickets or pay attention like they threaten to every five minutes, then they might get the change they crave. But then they’d have to accept what they wish for and buy tickets to watch a lousy non-playoff team for at least 3-5 years on a re-build. 32 teams in this league, 31 disappointed every season, there are no quick fixes here. So will all those complainers who scream “burn it down” be patient and supportive enough to pay the freight until the next upswing, or will they abandon the team anyway? Their choice, but all the bellyaching gets tiresome, so no, fans can largely be dismissed by the players and the owners, until they speak with their wallets instead of their tweets on the “megaphone for morons” as Twitter is called. If management can squeak into the playoffs in the “mushy middle” and maybe pull an upset or two every so often, they’ll take that playoff revenue and risk losing a few fans who will likely hang around anyway (we did sell out both playoff games in 5 minutes, after all) over a re-build if they know those same fans will walk away anyway while the team flounders. It’s just business.

Once again Mother Hen to the rescue. Sometimes  you really know how to suck the fun and energy out of a fan forum where most are just sharing their opinion shooting the shite knowing none of this matters in the grand scheme of things. Jeebus.

Wheeler talks like he’s stuck in 2018. Limping into this years post season is not an improvement.
As Friesen writes with 1 year left on contracts “any or all of them could be traded or risk getting nothing”. Which ones will get traded? No team will take 26 at full cost.
How many games weren’t sold out this year? Will that number grow next year?

Jets players receive a grade

helleybuck got a low grade.  worst goalie in the first round. eek.

maybe one of the players bowness was talking about.

The team suffers from " Uneasiness; discomfort; specifically, an indefinite feeling of uneasiness, often a preliminary symptom of a serious malady"

 malaise!

No player on this club right now should feel comfortable about the future with this team....Rick couldn't say that but I get the feeling that's what Bowness was really saying after we exited the season so badly.....I look for big changes in the offseason....it's inevitable now and long overdue....Sometimes it takes real gumption and balls to really tell it like it is....Time to separate the wheat from the chaffe on this club TrueNorth....long overdue
