Posted July 17, 20222 yr comment_579479 It's just a stat, with Andrew passing Milt for 4th in the all time yardage from scrimmage. But NO!!! Those statistics are more than that. To us it is a tribute, a celebration. The Bombers have had many, many heroes. And here are two more: not just for achievement and longevity. There is leadership, personality, and heart. As individuals, they are different, but as Bombers they stand tall amongst our best.

Harris may go down int he books as one of the best if not THE best Canadian running back ever in the CFL. He looked so-so when with the Beastly Lions but really blossomed with the Blue as not only a good ball carrier but a very good blocker and receiver.

Harris was great with the Lions and was legendary with us. He is the best NI RB in CFL history, without question. He's up there with Pringle and Reed as among the best ever, period. In 20 years, people will be talking about him in the same breath as those other guys.
July 17, 20222 yr comment_579563 We don't win those 2 Grey Cups without him. Dude completely transformed the offense, before he was here we were starting bums like Cameron Marshall. He was a better blocker, reciever, running back, leader... He was just so darn good for so long. Even in that game we played TO he had some key runs to help try and spark the comeback.

I remember one game in Calgary where he basically beat the Stamps single-handed. Just ran all over them. And they were a good team at the time. Congrats to Andrew Harris, hope you play long enough to catch Geroy too!
July 18, 20222 yr comment_579605 Normie Kwong, Gerry James, Andrew Harris & Jon Cornish in no particular order are the 4 best Canadian running backs. Edited July 18, 20222 yr by SpeedFlex27
July 18, 20222 yr comment_579609 I can't recall a running back who excelled at every aspect of the job like Harris did and does. Shame that the bridge was burned but such is life.
July 18, 20222 yr comment_579610 Harris was the heartbeat of this team for years. The intensity and tenacity he brings to the football field is immeasurable. The fact that he is a local boy, made it all the more special. One of our own. He knew the suffering this franchise had endured and made it his mission to bring pride back to this organization. Congrats Andrew and thank you!
July 18, 20222 yr comment_579618 If not for Andrew Harris, the Bombers would likely not be back-to-back champs... we could be looking at a 30+ year drought... when he agreed to come home to Winnipeg and help this perpetually losing franchise get back on track... that forever changed the fortune of the current day Bombers... I wish it didn't end the way it did... but I'll always be grateful for his contributions to the Bombers and will never have a bad word to say about him. He's probably the greatest Canadian RB to ever play the game... top 5 RB of all time (regardless of nationality) and one of the top 5 Canadians to ever play the game... So for this accomplishment, I would simply say Congratulation Andrew Harris.
