Toninato's on waivers, looks like a certain new player isn't going to be sitting in the press box after all

May be an image of text that says "FANS OFTHE WINNIPEG ET FTS MINNIPED com/fansoft Thursday Oct. 13 Practice Report Connor-Scheifele-Ehlers Perfetti-Dubois-Wheeler Barron-Lowry-Appleton Maenalanen-Gustafsson-Gagner wwww Jonsson-Fjallby Fjallby Morrissey-DeMel DeMelo Dillon-Pionk Stanley-Schmidt Samberg, Capobianco Hellebuyck Rittich"

Toni had a good camp. Too bad. Jonsson-Fjallby looks like 2 players 😂

Tucker Carlson??  Tucker ******* Carlson?!!!! That guy might be the biggest asshat that has ever lived.  Nothing he spouts can be considered ‘information’.

Stanley keeps getting chances.  He needs to pick up his game IMO.  He did seem like he was trying to be more physical this preseason, so that’s something.

Would like to see some progression, but people need to remember that he is only just 24 and has little more than one full season’s worth of games under his belt. Zdeno Chara was given up on by two teams  by the time he was 28 and didn’t win the Norris until he was 32. Won the Cup at 34 and still had a decade of hockey left in him.

Chara was a hell of alot nastier and  better positioned than Stanley even early in his hockey development, the only similarity is the height imo, but we will see.

Chara is a very rare example, but you’re right, he’s still young and has time to figure it out.  Hopefully he does.

Given up is kinda not the word I would choose. Yes Isles traded him but that was after 3 seasons playing top 6 and he left Ottawa as UFA. He could have signed there. He pulled a Myers.

Crazy looking back Ottawa could only afford one $6m dman. Jets have 3 guys at 6m.

And the only one worth the 6 is Morrissey. Same defense as last year. Maybe the new system helps them??

That's the plan, which Bowness alluded to yesterday. It's probably going to take time to break old habits but it sounds like the team has bought into what he's selling.

The forward lines back-checking, plugging up lanes, and collapsing to the net much more consistently should only help the blue liners with their game. And the goalie, too.

Toninato cleared waivers. Moose might get some crowds this year. They are kinda stacked

The system is definitely not just for the forwards. In what world...

If you've paid attention to bowness at all you'd know that the D is a huge part of the new system. Our D was like 2nd or 3rd worst last year in terms of scoring goals... believe I heard 24 goals by the D last year and Josh had half. The D will be activated this year and that requires the forwards to back them up.
