3 goals on 18 shots.  Atrocious pk.  Mediocre pp.  No offensive zone presence.   And the losses are piling up. so aggravating being a Jets fan this year.

well the trade deadline is coming, let's see if they'll do anything, I'd kill to get a season saving player like we got with Stastny (even though we were doing quite good even before Stast joined us) or for Buff and/or Little to be fully recovered before January

PK in last 18 times short handed. 9 for 18. Theres a problem.

They wont make the playoffs. 

When Helle doesn’t steal the game we don’t win... D depth has been exposed - even with Buff the talent would not be there

Not buying out Kulikov was a massive miscalculation- worse than signing him...

Kuli when healthy is our 3rd best D. 

Buying him out makes no difference. 

Check out the schedule until the All star break... Do we pick up 10 points? Id be surprised. 

Jets gave up 16 High Danger scoring chances today.. 16.. Teams give that up in 2 or 3 games.. We did it in 1. 

D is a problem but scheifele connor wheeler refusing to help out is a bigger one. 

Very frustrating to watch, yes they are talented but they are also sloppy with a bad work ethic. Is that on the coach or the players? Something needs to change.

Buying him out would have made a huge difference in the off-season.  Then you either re-sign Chiarot or find someone who can play a whole season. 

I see you're getting back on the blame Scheif and Wheeler train...  while our D is too slow to execute a breakout or defend shooting lanes on PK

Sbisa's lack of speed, Pionk's size, Poolman's positioning, Bitetto and Beaulieu AHL talent level... each of these factor into high risk chances each game

Pionk size...he's 10 lbs less then Morrrissey and same size. You don't see Morrissey pushing guys out of the way either. Beaulieu should sit and Dahlstrom should play while everyone waits for Buff to return from ice fishing/hunting. Gotta love big D

Anyone catch Illegal Curve podcast on Sat? Jets have some horrible stats...offensively horrible stats. Give me some minutes to bring them up.

All these stats prior to Saturdays game.

 - the Jets are dead last in NHL when it comes to even strength expected goals per 60 @  2.03

 - the Jets are 3rd worst in NHL when it comes to even strength goals against per 60 minutes @ 2.64

According to Natural Stat Trick...

 - the Jets have the second fewest high danger scoring chances in the league

 - the Jets give up the second most high danger scoring chances

NHL.com says the Jets have the 3rd hardest schedule for the second half of the season.

Hellebuyck's save percentage is .926 which is 2nd in league among goalies who have played 20 games.
Hellebuyck's goals saved above expectation is 1st in NHL at 15.86
Hellebuyck's last six games(again prior to Sats game) save percentage : .879 .906 .783 .875 1(shutout) .857

10 lbs is a lot...  Morrissey is also much better in terms of hockey sense than Pionk

Dahlstrom is not going to fix any problems.

The fact that Bitetto-Beaulieu are our #1 PK defensive pairing is a major issue 

Pionk getting more special teams time than Morrissey is a problem too - Morrissey was a good PP quarterback but Maurice likes his RHD - that's how we got stuck with Trouba last year

 

 

The defensive play has finally caught up (said so at the beginning of the year)..add to that no scoring punch when we need it..=Free fall and the bottom is falling out..Like Goalie, I think post season is looking doubtful.

Lafreniere or Byfield would look good here

Really miss Copp IMO. He does a lot in all 200 feet to insulate some of the really poor puck decisions by our D, him and Lowry together.  He's a significant player.

We'll see if Perreault can give that bottom 6 a shot in the arm tonight.  Personally I think Bourque is the worst forward we've dressed this year but he's still in ahead of Shaw and Luoto.
