October 9, 20195 yr comment_433299 What's the over/under of Collaros lasting a full game? 6 plays? 7? More or less? Yup... I hate this trade, not for what we gave up, but for what we got in return. I'd rather have Franklin, Jennings, even Bridge as the backup to Streveler and yes I know none of them are any good, but they can all last a game or two if needed.

All we need to do is win our playoff games and Collaros is better then any of those quarterbacks you mentioned.
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433301 The only thing I don't like is if the 3rd rounder becomes a 1st. I don't want any part of giving up a 1st rounder for Collaros who should retire before he kills himself.
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433302 I would imagine there’s less than a 1% chance he gets re-signed so I’m not particularly concerned about the potential loss of a first.
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433303 I have no idea what O Shea will do will Collaros, but I'd get him in a little game action in the next couple of weeks and play him a fair bit in game 18 ( platooning him with Streveler).

We got the best QB we possibly could have at a very tolerable price. Literally no harm done by doing this at all. You're joking right? Collaros has no reps this year and is one concussion away from retirement walking into an O where opposing D's constantly send heat He won't make it to the playoffs - All he will do now is be a distraction to Streveler's development - Lapo and Walters hit the panic button
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433305 Imo this was the only somewhat useful trade they could have made and it only cost has moving down 2 rounds to do it
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433306 We’ve officially turned into the 2018 Riders. Karma always gets us after all the things we’ve said about Collaros the last 2 years. This season is in the toilet.

Collaros isn't any better this year than those guys and we'll start Streveler in the playoffs anyway, unless he's hurt. Edited October 9, 20195 yr by TBURGESS
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433311 Yay, Kyle did something. We can keep him upright as long as he never sees the field and the backup O lineman keeps people from bumping up against him on the sidelines. Might want to bubble wrap the clip board too. Can't be too careful.

October 9, 20195 yr comment_433314 They should have at least given McGuire some real game reps to see what he brings to the team.
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433315 I wanted Collaros so bad... back in 2014. Better late than never? Welcome to the Bombers, Zach..... keep your head on a swivel.
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433316 Are they planning to start Collaros? If not then why even make the trade.
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433318 God what a waste of a pick. guy can't stay healthy so you can't rely on him.
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433320 Oh, well, we didn't gain much but didn't lose much. I see this as a token move to calm the masses but from Collaros' point of view, if he takes the field, he ought to have one of the best O-lines in the league to protect his melon.
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433322 Wonder what the price for MBT was. The Argos can't want him going forward. MBT has been better than Collaros recently and has at least played this season. I don't see what Collaros can offer having been out for about 5 months and struggling all of last season when he did play, sure his W-L was good but Sask was scoring by special teams and turnovers at CFL record pace.
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433323 This reminds me a lot of when we brought in Buck but Buck, at his best, was better...

But one of the worst coordinators for protecting a qb. Last year the Riders never kept Collaros in the pocket simply because they knew he'd die back there. Lapo though loves to leave his qbs sitting in the pocket for blitzes to tee off on
October 9, 20195 yr comment_433328 Don't really see the point. There are a lot of issues with this team and specifically the offense that won't be changed even if they switch Collaros in for Streveler. If we are going to lose - and that does appear somewhat likely - I would have rather watched Streveler and/or McGuire, if only to look at your 2020 options with those guys.

I have no faith that LaPolice will adapt a game plan to compensate for a brittle QB.
