I'm assuming it's the financing. Finance rates have gone up and construction costs have too. Back in '19, everything looked easy to do but not so much anymore.

Yep. A simple lift of plywood is over 4K

Ice swept the Blades tonight so they are off to the WHL finals.  They'll face either Seattle or Kamloops (the top two teams in the West).

If Kamloops wins the series against Seattle, the Ice automatically qualify for the Memorial Cup.

that's what I read this morning.... it's a toss up between an automatic berth in the Mem Cup and seeing Brad Lambert in Wpg for the first time.

Yep, Kamloops is the host this year so they are going regardless.

I wrote that poorly. I meant, and it's been confirmed, that if Kamloops makes the final, the Ice get an automatic berth to the Memorial Cup, regardless if they lose.

I'll be interested to see if attendance picks up at a much better venue.

T-Birds knock off the Blazers so the Ice now have to earn their way to the Memorial Cup.

Ice take game 1 tonight.  Announced crowd of 5.5k, well up from their regular season average of 1.6k.

 

 

Checked out game two tonight.  Seattle with the 4-2 win but it was a good game and another decent crowd.  Brad Lambert looked pretty good and had a couple goals.

Lambert giving me matt barzal vibes at center.  Think Jets got a stud

He has all the tools but he needs to figure it out between the ears, it's the only thing holding back

I think if he does he's a at worst 2 centre 

Not looking good for the Ice, giving up three goals in 45 seconds.

Jets have to be liking how Lambert has been playing though.

 

 

Ice are piss poor defensively and have been all year. Very O heavy team but seems only Benson hustles both ways
