Maybe because the league is so small and so much of TSN/League's energy is devoted to getting cozy with players in return for access but sometimes broadcasts come accross as a sewing circle...clucking praise with oh so gentle criticism. Maybe with a competitor there could be a little more sandpaper and call out league BS and jackass players when needed.

They went into last night's game with the intent to showcase Duron Carter's abilities on defence and they did that... but they tend to tell the story they want to rather than the reality... they weren't highlighting any of Carter's screw-ups but they go nuts when he makes one tackle. I don’t know whose bright idea this is, but you’re right. Leave the stories for side shows. The value of the game itself more than carries its share of entertainment. And please, no more in game interviews. They are entertainment killers..

They don't seem to have the wherewithal to cut away from something they no longer have space for, but that's live sports and you have to be able to make those adjustments.
