So... Calgary is the only decent team?

Calgary may not be the powerhouse team of last year (even though they choked in the Grey Cup) but they are still the team to beat.  The biggest problem in the league this year appears to be the lack of good starting quarterbacks or at least their performances.  Much as I hate to admit it, Jones' Riders have a pretty good defense (not great) and BC is fairly close to that as well.

BC's the team that everyone's forgetting about. They could still get out of the basement if they play up to their potential and Edmonton keeps losing,  BC could pass them in a few weeks for the last playoff spot.

I'd take our defence over Sask and BC any day
