It is very easy now to be come despondent and cynical about the social culture of Canada right now, but these idiots comprise probably less than a tenth of one percent. However they are very vocal and the media and some politicians and popular figures have given them a profile completely out of proportionĀ  to their numbers and purported popularity. The politicians have been divided and hesitant in their responses as have been the police, and that has compounded the problem. The net message the protesters have taken out of this is that whenever they do not get what they want, even if illegal and outrageous, they can repeat these behaviours and escalate if they choose to with little or no consequence. Bullies rarely respond to negotiation- they see that as an admission of weakness and renew their demands.

I'llĀ  add this , it's what the world gets to see of Canada now. I agree with your post %100.Ā  Part ofĀ  " Law , order and good governmentĀ  " is squashing these extremists before it emboldens those who quietly support their ideas. It was left far to long.

OTTAWA – Two-thirds of Canadians support Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act and believe it’s time to clear out Freedom Convoy protesters in Ottawa, even if people get hurt in the process, reveals a new poll.

Ā

But neither the federal Liberals nor any other level of government should take this as a sign of support for their management of the blockades, as a slim majority of Canadians (54 per cent) say they are ā€œashamedā€ of how politicians have let the protests get out of hand, according to data collected by Maru Public Opinion.

ā€œThe backdrop of all this is an encampment, a siege (in Ottawa) and the impotency of the Ottawa police and the politicians … to make this go away,ā€ says the polling company’s executive vice president, John Wright.

ā€œWe’re seeing support for the Act, but it’s fuelled by the sense of wanting to accomplish an end to this,ā€ he added. ā€œWhatever is done will be worn by the prime minister.ā€

The poll surveyed 1,518 Canadian adults via an online panel between Feb. 15 and 16, right as Trudeau’s government announced it was invoking the Emergencies Act for the first time in history to help authorities clear out Freedom Convoy blockades.

The National ComPost has deteriorated into a right-wing echo chamber, and Rex Murphy is a perfect fit.Ā

In related news, four of the Coutts mob have been charged with attempted murder. Apparently these were actively planning to kill RCMP officers, presumably to spark a violent uprising.Ā

In other related news, CBC News and the New York Times have reported that the Ottawa police have been very friendly with the protesters. And a total of 7 Canadian Armed Forces personnel are in the process of being discharged for making public statements in support of the convoy. There is a report that a retired RCMP officer once in charge of security for the Prime Ministers helped plan the Ottawa occupation.

Elon Musk slammed for comparing Trudeau to Hitler in 'lazy, attention-peeking' pro-trucker pro-crypto meme meltdown

Ā  Ā
The world’s wealthiest person, Elon Musk, is being mocked and criticized after posting a meme comparing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Adolf Hitler.

In a tweet Musk’s meme shows a photo of the Nazi leader, responsible for the deaths of approximately 17 million human beings, with the words: ā€œStop comparing me to Justin Trudeau. I had a budget.ā€

The Daily Beast calls it a ā€œdeeply confused point about the anti-vaccine-mandate trucker protests and cryptocurrency,ā€ along with ā€˜lazy, offensive, and attention-seeking.ā€

Musk was responding to a report the Canadian government has ordered financial institutions to stop doing business with 34 cryptocurrency addresses.

this is hilarious and stupid.Ā  Rex spends 95% of his wordcount decrying Trudeau as a complete amateur, a pretender, an insult to Canadians.Ā

But somehow JT also has the magical power to placate and soothe some snowbank-shitting **** Trudeau cracker who drove multiple days across Canada just to blare a train horn on Wellington Street in Ottawa ... and who signed onto an insane "MOU" that called for Parliament to be replaced by a committee of truckers.

I wish Trudeau was half as awesome as right-wing freakazoids believe him to be.

Yet many on the right are sharing the hugging of protestors by the RCMP at Coutts as proof that there was never any violence and it has always been solely a peaceful movement.

No, it shows law enforcement is complicit and treats protestors differently based on political beliefs and skin colour.

The dichotomous image of Trudeau speaks to their collective stupidity. On the one hand, he's a feckless leader with no influence as a politician in any capacity, who "can't even win a popular vote," hides in his cabin, and is afraid to have discussions with them and their misguided, ignorant, essentially braindead ilk; on the other, he's a power-thirsty authoritarian fascist hellbent on taking away rights and freedoms and will stop at nothing to destroy the country with his leftist/marxist/communist agenda.

Pick a ******* lane.
