November 7, 20168 yr comment_233367 Probably Chevy telling the agent that they have no intention of trading Trouba and here is our offer... The only thing about the deadline is, other teams that value trouba might be more inclined to up their trade offers too. So its a matter of waiting for someone to blink, either Trouba or another team.

November 7, 20168 yr comment_233502 well I don't know how to delete comment or get rid of any annoying quotes that I didn't need to quote, so sorry M.O.A.B Oh good, we don't have to recall anyone for awhile
November 7, 20168 yr comment_233503 Chevy actually met one on one with Jacob while in Detroit. That's probably when he convinced him to sign. Don't be surprised if Myers is traded.
November 7, 20168 yr Author comment_233506 Wait a second. 3m/yr? That can't be right. That's less then Maatta. Edited November 7, 20168 yr by FrostyWinnipeg

What kind of message would that send? Ship away a guy who wants to be here to accommodate a guy who wanted out.

Trouba is only 2 years and both are RFA years, that is why it is less. Maata is over 6 years and includes UFA years in there. If it was a longer term deal, Trouba would have got more because you would be buying UFA years. What this basically means, is after this contract, if Trouba keeps on his current trajectory, you won't be getting him in the $5M range, it will be $6 - $8M range, depending on how he does.

November 7, 20168 yr comment_233512 Yeah, not sure you trade Myers when you know that Trouba still doesn't want to be here long term. There is a reason Trouba signed a bridge and not a 6 year deal. Of course all that completely depends on what return you can get for Myers and / or Trouba.

November 7, 20168 yr comment_233515 Trouba probably still wants to get traded, this deal gets him to ufa quicker and arbitration eligible at the end of this contract. Call this a small win for Chevy.
November 7, 20168 yr comment_233516 This deal doesn't mean Trouba is going to stay here, it simply means he's an easier asset to get rid of (and for a better return)
November 7, 20168 yr comment_233518 Ok let's go get some value for Trouba now. Chycrun and Dvorak come on down!

I think you forgot Buff in your list. No way Chevy trades Buff, that would cause a sucking sound in the Winnipeg fan base not heard since the Selanne trade. No way the punk kid running the Yotes gives up Domi. But yeah if we threw in one of our spare parts (or even two) we might get a first rounder as well as those two dudes. It would be great to package up Burmi in there somewhere, along with Stafford if possible into a Trouba deal. Edited November 7, 20168 yr by kelownabomberfan

I'd even go a step further and say this deal increases the chances he's traded by Dec.1 This has felt like the Turris scenario in PHO since the beginning, even moreso now. Turris held out until Nov.22, 2011 and was traded on Dec.17

To get Domi u better give up a forward with potential. How many D can be protected for the expansion?
November 7, 20168 yr comment_233531 Assuming he isn't traded before this contract is up, when can we realistically expect him to start for us?
