So Pavelec letting in his first shot against arizona is a confidence booster? What? This team has played like this before,even earlier in the season, it's nothing new, they just seem to be a bit more consistent right now, I'm sorry but the Jets got owned last night and won because our goalie was better than their goalie. That's what it comes down to, Chicago had 40 (41) shots, they dominated us, we had no business winning that game but found a way to win (but really, we are good vs the central so this shouldn't be some surprise). My issue and i think other peoples issues are... why can we beat the hawks or blues or OUR division but then the next game we play, we lose? It's happened before, it's nothing new, this team has proven nothing, it's proven it can beat a tanking team, a team playing the back up to the backup but then anaheim and san jose come to town and play their back ups and we lose, We beat Chicago playing their back up (he's having a good season tho). I see a team who has yet to prove that they can actually consistently play good, cuz for the most part they got owned last night and that sharks game, to an extent, the sharks were all over us, ducks owned us also, Jets put up a good fight those games but in the end, you knew they would lose. Until they win 3 in a row, they are exactly what they have been all year long. consistently inconsistent.

Babcock and or McClellan makes a huge difference. You put Talbot or Anderson here with mo and 1980s techniques Flaherty and they aren't as good

I was just browsing the stats and The Jets have 4 guys in the top 30 points wise (Scheif tied for 8th, Ehlers, Laine and Wheeler). Buff is on the list also, but not in the top 30 and is the 5th best point producing D man behind Burns, Karlsson,Hedman and Shattenkirk (1 more point than Buff). Helle has the exact same save percentage as Henrik Lundqvist, 907 which is below league average for sure but... 5 guys in the top 40 scoring and a goalie with the almost exact same GAA and exactly the same save percentage as a pretty damn good goalie and we are this bad? It's actually somewhat mind boggling... PP and PK really killing us it seems. D zone play also. Man, the Metro ran a nice article today about Maurice tho didn't it? anyone see it?

I like Wheeler but his D play is not good at all, he's not good in the D zone, Little is but Wheeler? Certainly not one of our better D forwards.. I think it's as simple as Copp Scheif Wheeler looked good last game and Laine and Ehlers, well you can't break them up so put them with Little, Both those lines looked good last game, I have no issue with those line combos at all.

I disagree. You come out to cut the angle. It's basic goaltending 101. He was a little deep when the shot was taken but a good goalie should make that save. We lost by 1 so what about goal 1? He should have stopped that. Goals 2 and 4.. Pav doesn't even notice that a pass happens until the puck is in the net... he was slow reading the play.

Yeah but then Ehlers and Morrissey are RFA, Little is UFA.... other guys also. I'd be ok with paying out a ton for our D if they were worth it but right now, I dunno... I see a pretty good top 4 and a really crappy bottom 4.. Buff Morrissey Trouba Toby That's a pretty above average group on paper isn't it? Postma Stuart... It's probably a pretty average NHL bottom pair also... I mean, could it be upgraded? For sure, it could be.. Myers if he's ever healthy immediately upgrades that bottom pair. I'm not sure going out and spending more money on D men is the right thing to do. I'd actually probably consider moving one of Toby Myers or Trouba (whoever really, unfortunately probably Trouba since i doubt he wants to be here long term) and try to fix our D issues that way.... Too much money spent on our D currently. Believes it's in the top 3 in the league in terms of money paid to our D men.

What do you mean none that deserve it? Since when does deserving something matter? Does Drew Stafford deserve to be on the PP or Adam Lowry? Does Mark Stuart deserve to be on the PK or Thorburn? It's not about deserving, it's about giving a kid a chance to show what he can do.

For the most part when college guys go the FA route it's to play closer to home. For Poolman the closest city to home for him is Winnipeg This is a guy who has come to all our Development camps... who has said he stayed at ND because 1. His dad is part of the staff and 2. His brother started playing there this year. He is not some bright lights big city kid... he's a prairie kid from Grand Forks. I think its 95 percent likely he signs here.
