  1. They should have a viable running game if the O-line can block properly, that would take some of the heat off Harris who has been forced to pass almost every down much of his career.
  2. In that case it might be wise to identify an import RB that can approximate Brady's running style and stick him on the PR for the season in case they need him. Augustine or Rosery aren't capable of sustaining a ground and pound running game and not sure MCI can fill that role either yet. The Riders found a poor man's version of Ouellette in Ratkovich to pound the ball if he goes down, I could see their running game being much improved this season.
  3. Backup QB's to watch, Doege in Edm. seemed to have the composure of Dru Brown, Logan Bonner in Cgy. looked good as well. Taylor Powell in Hamilton will become their starter eventually.
  4. Never liked teams relying on receivers making circus catches to win games, it basically means the guy isn't really that open and the QB is risking possession throwing to a well covered receiver. For Zach, Lawler can be a bit of a crutch, huck it up with the confidence Lawler will always come down with it, doesn't always work. Schoen doesn't have that ability in his tool bag so Zach doesn't risk throwing him any jump balls.
  5. Who cares about the fans or the broadcasters, fans are barely watching exhibition games now and broadcasters are not all that interested in broadcasting them. The radio broadcasters can yap indefinitely, 2 hours prior and 2 hours post game is almost normal for them. The whole purpose of extending exhibition games would be to give teams more game time to evaluate unknown personnel.
  6. Somebody on the Riders forum suggested extending exhibition games to 5 or 6 Q's, I think this would be a reasonable way to give new players extra playing time without adding travel costs or much extra expense. Add another intermission after 60 minutes and play again for an extra 30 minutes. No single player needs to play more than 30 mins. so it should be manageable from a personnel perspective. As for the fans in attendance as long as they realize it's a casual affair they can come and go as they wish.
  7. Ex Bomber RB Ronnie Brown looking super ordinary for the RedBlacks.
  8. Don't see much progression in Crums's game, he is what he's always been, a white bread and butter sandwich. He'd make a decent backup but that's about it.
  9. Stumbled upon this guys gamecast last week, the amazing thing is the crazy bastard has 1.1k following him. It's so bad it's actually entertaining.
  10. Not so much, they had Nevis for at least 2 years prior and Poop Johnson had one good year before Stove came along.
  11. Thanks one specific link that works, whoever manages that site needs to be fired.
  12. Can't find the door, only see the link to last weekends game!
  13. You're correct Rutledge, Darby and Lawrence all kind of slipped away with no obvious diminishment in their play, much goes on that the eye can not see and no clear explanation is ever provided.
  14. There is no explanation for Rutledge being demoted, he played well on the field, so it must have been something that happened off the field in the realm of FIFO.
  15. As mentioned earlier, maybe Barriere gets picked up by the Stamps to reunite with his former coach Beau Baldwin. Wilson got comfortable real fast in that first game, I'd be surprised if any other QB is going to dislodge him from #3.
  16. Do they still have the life-sized bobble heads ringing the concourse or was that just a time limited promo?
  17. And where do the Argos find themselves heading into this season, and think about why it was allowed to happen?
  18. Echoes what Andrew Harris said when he joined the Argos in 2022, he found the animosity that existed within the dressing room hard to comprehend.
  19. I don't know if you listen to O'Shea's press conferences closely enough to comprehend the message he continually puts out. Here are a few constants. 1. He relates to and likes intelligent hard working blue collar players. (Kramdi, Jake Thomas, Woli, Schoen, Neufeld) 2. He likes players who are willing to teach, as the coaches do not have enough time in the day to deal with slow learners, if you're dumb your chances of making the team are not good, no matter the physical talent. 3. He rewards commitment and longevity as any union boss would, he's also pro-Canadian. 4. He respects the veterans in the room to protect their culture and choose their teammates wisely, assholes are not tolerated.
  20. Post-game press conference, O'Shea stated they weren't in a rush and wanted to take advantage of the time they had to evaluate fully. Could be no more cuts till final cut down.
  21. Jake's explanation for the late signing was he was fully exploring his NFL opportunities.
  22. It sounds like he was mixing up Jake with Clarence Denmark, who was cut then brought back to finish the season.
  23. Don't see that happening early on unless Schmeckle proves ineffective in games, as it deprives him the path he needs to take to eventually replace Jake and perhaps his desire to re-sign with the Bombers in the off-season. When Lawson returns O'Shea may be forced to make a tough decision on which players to choose.
  24. Maybe Arbckle will have a resurgence like Nichols did when he came to Wpg., he was on his last legs in Edmonton after being demoted to play behind phenom James Franklin, just before he was traded to the Bombers.
  25. When was that?
