As an FYI, you do not have to be over 0.08 BAC to be charged and convicted of a DWI offence. You do not even need to be behind the wheel (care and control) or reacting to fatigue and/or a reaction to prescription drugs (even if taking as directed). If you blow over .08 though, you will be charged. You can even be sleeping it off in the box of a truck and charged if you have the keys in your possession. If you show signs of intoxication. you can be charged, although there is a degree of discretion for the officer. Diabetics and someone suffering from various medical conditions (like a petit-mal seizure or stroke) can present as intoxicated.

This is often a catchall cover story for "probable cause".

I think the biggest advantage of older music is that all of the crap music that was around when the "classic" music emerged has, thankfully, been flushed into the sewers of history and forgotten. With all the media everpresent now, the crappy music and what passes for music is hyped and thus assumed to be something that will weather well. It ain't necessarily so.

I'm not entirely sure about this, but I seem to recall that there were two events that spurred the trans-Canada railroad. The second was the the bungled attempted invasion of Irish nationalist Fenians who gathered in Minnesota and tried to organize an invasion and seizure of lands in Manitoba. They apparently thought they could either hold the land as an Irish free state or possibly trade the lands back in exchange for British withdrawal from Ireland. They fell to quarreling among themselves and the movement disintegrated. There were rumours that Louis Riel promised to help them in exchange for concessions.

I disagree. by the time of that 1860's civil war in the US (there were others, too) came around, the Americans were trying to conquer Canada and Mexico as per the Monroe doctrine and the policy of "manifest destiny". That militancy seems to have always been there and I seem to recall that, in the past 200 years the US has been involved in more foreign wars than any other nation on Earth.

I think the moral of this story is that all empires fall and most fall quickly. That Putin in his arrogance chose to attack Ukraine where the people there have fought fiercely for not only their freedom from Russia but to avoid genocide only accelerated the process. Putin's attacks on Georgia and Chechnya gave him confidence that Ukraine would roll over as well and no doubt his advisors told him what he wanted to hear. The USA is facing the same scenario and their own hubris has prevented them from learning anything from their misadventures in Korea, Viet Nam, Lebanon and recently, Afghanistan- the graveyard of empires. When the American empire ends, it will probably do so, not with a bang, but with a whimper.

MoD of Ukraine confirmed the surrender negotiations of around 20 000 Russian north of Dnipro river, Kherson region! (Following the last wave of surrendering from Kharkiv, Monday morning) Also, Putin has retreated to his bunker in Sochi! Slava Ukraini! And all 18 regional governors in Russia have signed a letter urging Putin to quit. Russian commanders are refusing to send more troops to Ukraine as they fear mutiny if they try to do so.

IF Johnson still has tread on his tires, has kept in shape and wants to end his career on a high note, signing with the Blue would make sense for him. We still need a run-stopper in the middle of our D-line. So far, we have coped without one, but it would be great to fill that gap.
