  1. House Report Says Washington Commanders Owner Had Role In ‘Toxic Work Culture' WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Commanders created a “toxic work culture” for more than two decades, “ignoring and downplaying sexual misconduct” by men at the top levels of the organization, according to a report published Thursday by the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform. Commanders owner Dan Snyder was involved in the misconduct, according to the report, which said he inappropriately touched a former employee at a dinner, had staffers produce a video “of sexually suggestive footage of cheerleaders,” and ordered that women who were auditioning to be cheerleaders walk on the field “while he and his friends gawked from his suite through binoculars.” Snyder also interfered in what is known as the Wilkinson investigation, which the NFL eventually took over, that stemmed from former employees alleging in 2020 rampant sexual harassment by team executives, the report said. He also had a separate shadow investigation going, which the report said was used by his lawyers to “cast him as the victim of a defamation campaign ... and deflect responsibility for the team’s toxic work culture.” The team owner also interfered with the House committee’s investigation by “intimidating witnesses,” “refusing to release former employees form their confidentiality obligations” and blocking “the Committee’s access to tens of thousands of documents collected during the Wilkinson Investigation.” When Snyder did testify in a deposition to the committee, the report said, he was evasive and misleading and said more than 100 times that he did not recall things. The NFL is not shielded from criticism in the report, which says the league “misled the public about its handling of the Wilkinson Investigation,” “continues to minimize workplace misconduct across the league,” “has not protected workers from sexual harassment and abuse,” and “has not sought true accountability for those responsible.”

A former US soldier who was working security at Mar-A-Lago come forward a few months ago and said that he had been ordered to remove boxes of documents from the main building to other buildings and was immediately branded a liar by Trump. Since there was no corroborating evidence at that time, the allegation was not pursued. However, an extensive review of the security footage at the resort revealed yesterday footage of the man moving boxes out of Mar-A-Lago. Yesterday top secret documents were found at a rental storage facility a few kms away from the resort. Verrry interesting.

  4. Putin Is Preparing to Flee When Russia Implodes, Ex-Aide Says -Reuters Russia’s Vladimir Putin and his cronies already have a plan in place to flee the country once things go sideways, a former aide to the Russian president has claimed. Abbas Gallyamov, a former speechwriter for Putin, made the astounding claim on Telegram early Wednesday, citing an unnamed source that he said had “insider” information on the whole affair. The evacuation plan, according to Gallyamov, got underway back in the spring, when it was unofficially dubbed “Noah’s Ark.” “As the name implies, it’s about a search for new land to go to in case it becomes completely uncomfortable in the homeland. The leader’s entourage has not ruled out that he will lose the war, be stripped of power, and have to urgently evacuate somewhere,” Gallyamov wrote. Putin’s inner circle first considered a plan to evacuate to China, Gallyamov said, but later thought better of it, fearing the chances of “cooperation” from the Chinese were slim, especially since they despise “losers.” Now, he said, the focus has shifted to either Argentina or Venezuela, with Putin ally Igor Sechin currently overseeing an evacuation plan for the latter country. The plan is so far along, Gallyamov said, that Sechin’s “right-hand man” at Rosneft “formally resigned” from the oil giant to handle “on-site work.” Citing two sources close to the presidential administration and a source in Rosneft, the Telegram channel Mozhem Obyasnit also reports that high-ranking officials have already begun buying up real estate and working on getting residency rights in Venezuela. Those lower on the totem-pole in the presidential administration and Russian government are seeking residency in Ecuador, Paraguay, and Argentina, according to that report. In particular, a source was quoted saying, Russian officials have snatched up property on Venezuela’s Margarita Island, where they are confident they’ll be safe from extradition. “The island of Margarita in Venezuela is their local Courchevel,” the source was quoted saying, comparing the would-be Kremlin hideout to the famous French Alps ski resort. https://www.thedailybeast.com/vladimir-putin-is-preparing-to-flee-to-venezuela-when-russia-implodes-ex-aide-abbas-gallyamov-says?ref=home

CDC Chief Shares 'Good News' About This Year's Flu Vaccine Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky on Monday shared “good news” about this year’s annual flu vaccine, calling it “lifesaving.” Walensky said the shot appears to be effective against the influenza strain that’s circulating. “Right now, the good news is that it looks like it is a very good match,” she told reporters. This comes as cases of both COVID and flu have been on the rise. Walensky called the trend “worrisome” amid the holiday season, when many are gathering indoors with little ventilation. So far this season, there have been at least 8.7 million illnesses, 78,000 hospitalizations, and 4,500 deaths from flu, according to CDC estimates. Over 19,000 patients were hospitalized with flu during the week ending on Nov. 26. The best way to protect against infection and severe illness from flu is getting the annual shot, the CDC says. The vaccine is recommended for everyone above 6 months old. “I want to emphasize that the flu vaccine can be lifesaving and importantly there is still time to get vaccinated to be protected against flu this season,” Walensky said.

In an interview with CNN, the Danish filmmakers have said that committee lawyers had flown to Copenhagen to see what they had regarding interactions between Stone, the Trump White House, the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers. Reportedly they identified around eight minutes of relevant footage. Even what we've seen so far is startling. In July 2020, the documentary crew captured Roger Stone saying: Setting aside the unbelievable fatuousness of Stone's proclamation that "we've never cheated," which is deeply absurd coming from him, this pretty well lays out the conspiracy to overturn the election, three months before it was executed. He knew Trump was behind and likely to lose. The question before the House committee now is whether or not Roger Stone and Donald Trump were plotting this together and whether Stone was colluding with the violent extremists with whom he associated to start the insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021.

Its all about the separation of the legislative and judiciary branches and due process. Apparently about a third of the FBI is now devoted to investigating those involved in the January 6th insurrection.
  11. Anti-aircraft weaponry along with other weaponry and ammunition continues to pour into Ukraine. Some of the "suicide drones" carry payloads of 75kg and have a reach of 1000 km, making them essentially able to reach about 80% of all populated areas of Russia. Russia is pleading with Israel to not interfere with future shipments of drones and ammunitions from Iran to Russia.

Trump Tries To Back Off Of Terminating The Constitution And Melts Down After a weekend of backlash, Trump tried to clean up his calls for terminating the Constitution and things quickly went sideways. On his social media platform, Trump wrote: The Fake News is actually trying to convince the American People that I said I wanted to “terminate” the Constitution. This is simply more DISINFORMATION & LIES, just like RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, and all of their other HOAXES & SCAMS. What I said was that when there is “MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION,” as has been irrefutably proven in the 2020 Presidential Election, steps must be immediately taken to RIGHT THE WRONG. Only FOOLS would disagree with that and accept STOLEN ELECTIONS. MAGA! SIMPLY PUT, IF AN ELECTION IS IRREFUTABLY FRAUDULENT, IT SHOULD GO TO THE RIGHTFUL WINNER OR, AT A MINIMUM, BE REDONE. WHERE OPEN AND BLATANT FRAUD IS INVOLVED, THERE SHOULD BE NO TIME LIMIT FOR CHANGE! Trump doesn’t want to trash all of the Constitution, just that whole democratic election of leaders part and the idea that the will of the people as expressed at the ballot box is binding. If the former president is serious about there being no time limit for contesting elections, I’m sure that Al Gore would like to have a word about 2000, and Hillary Clinton has some thoughts on 2016. Trump couldn’t even backtrack from his plan to trash democracy without melting down and demanding that he be reinstated as president. The disaster continues to roll forward for Republicans as with each new post, Trump is digging the hole deeper. https://www.politicususa.com/2022/12/05/trump-tries-to-back-off-of-terminating-the-constitution-and-melts-down.html

Elon Musk promised to release bombshell documentation that Hunter Biden's laptop was loaded with all manner of incriminating evidence and proof that the Biden camp directed the DOJ and media to whitewash the said evidence. Today, Musk released his "damning" evidence which consisted of an email from Biden's electoral team asking that nude pictures and video of Hunter while he was intoxicated not be released. Hardly world-shaking. Compulsive homicidal urges are NOT a feature of DID. Lying, however, is a feature of stoopid people.
  20. You are obviously trolling if you are believing that the vaccine was promised to stop all transmission dead in its tracks. It never was, and the biggest reason that the pandemic spread so far and wide was that the populist provincial governments introduced measures which were late in coming and insufficient and the flat-earthers and "true believers" sabotaged the isolation and protective measures wherever they could, including threatening to kill doctors and nurses. You are on the wrong side of both science and history.
  21. I think it is equally the aim of the PCs and the like to starve government social services to the point where people give up any hope that any government will be there to help them in any way at a time of need. This may create in many distrust and fatalism, so that the more highly motivated fanatical adherents of the right wing will comprise enough of a majority to keep the PCs and such in power permanently with a free hand to create a predatory autocratic state.

Our Next Best COVID Drug Has Been Hiding In Plain Sight The fight against COVID seems to have fallen into a ping-ponging rhythm at this point, where every step forward seems undercut by one backward. Vaccines are available, and hospitalization rates have fallen dramatically from previous peaks. But just a sliver of eligible Americans have received the most recent bivalent shot, and the specter of a new, somehow worse variant looms large in our collective psyche. Elsewhere, such as in China, we seem to be losing ground to the virus: a less effective vaccine, paired with low vaccination rates, limited natural immunity, and discontent over a national Zero-COVID policy, may spell disaster in the coming weeks. But amid this impasse, scientists may have found a drug that will decisively shift the battle back toward humanity’s side. And the best part is, people have already been prescribed this drug for over 30 years. Though they can be highly effective, our current methods of preventing and treating COVID-19 infections all suffer from a fatal flaw, said Teresa Brevini, a U.K. biologist who recently completed her PhD at Cambridge University. “Vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, and antivirals all act on the virus, and unfortunately, as we've seen, this virus is quite smart and it can mutate,” Brevini told The Daily Beast. She is the first author of a new study into ursodeoxycholic acid, or UDCA, to prevent COVID. Crucially, instead of acting on the virus, UDCA modifies human cells to block the virus from infecting them. “If we just shut the door on the virus, it really cannot do anything,” Brevini said. Brevini and her colleagues’ research was published in the journal Nature on Monday. UDCA “shuts the door” on COVID by decreasing the amount of a receptor called ACE2 on the surface of cells. ACE2 normally controls blood pressure and limits organ damage, but by a twist of fate, it also makes for the perfect docking station for the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. When the virus infects the cells in a person’s respiratory tract, it uses ACE2 receptors like doorways. https://www.thedailybeast.com/a-repurposed-liver-drug-may-be-our-best-bet-against-covid-19?ref=home
  24. As Collaros has shown in the playoffs, he is mortal and if he is somehow not available, I have enough faith in Walters to find an adequate replacement that we should be OK. And even a premier quarterback is very limited if his supporting cast is inadequate. Its a delicate balancing act that Walters so far has done very well.
