  1. New players yeah...who deserve it..we kept other guys on team for several yrs too on pr for most part..where they now? As a professional staff...should be pretty easy to weed out the inadequate fairly fast
  2. yup....we need to build a system that can work in various ways and if something isnt there...we have other bullets in the gun...we went away from that and yup...boom or bust was the result I think if we can get ZC head into the idea of a more surgical an dare I say game manager...I'd rather say game controller mode...he may actually look like he has had a resurgenace.....he's not a gunslinger anymore, or a play extender running around waiting for things to open up...we do this.....He may even have another yr or 2 in him with a solid group around him After Bucks first yr, where he kinda took some DC's by surprise...he was figured out and in my opinion was what ailed us on offence all yr.....compound that with the brain dead idea to not play anyone in the off-season...Trying to make Mitchel and Johnson a thing and no ability to adjust...well the early season results was inevitable
  3. Yes was a concerted effort to lean down...still big and.poweful but more explosive and some elusiveness to him...not all about battering ram style..as that wasn't gonna.be sustainable
  4. We need to make MCI into a multi role hybrid guy..a bigger Drury type...but be important on jumbo packages...like I said..I'd like to see him used at times like a true TE...like they say you can't teach/coach athleticism and he's prob top 3 on our team in regards to athleticism...they will find his role BO to me seems to be morphing his game a Lil from what I seen this offseason..I think we gonna see more quickness and explosion outta him..coming in more lean
  5. Hell.yeah....like to see him incorporated as true TE in sets..sub 4.5 speed...size...whats not to like Yup...needs reps and some quality coaching...once its instinct for him to run with a lower pad level and see plays develop...could be a real asset From all accounts he has good hands...so I'd love to see some slot/TE work and swing/wheel plays out of backfield Intruiging guy...in space or a seam he can definitely run away from pretty much anyone and also run you over...he just needs reps...and developed...this new OC and Jackson could be a godsend for him...Buck had no clue what to do with him...and Osh even less so guys just get wasted...
  6. Easley lacked the hair too
  7. Imagine BO and Logan in backfieldd with Streveler...used as an actual QB with just the threat he "may" run ...key word being may....so many possibilities.....toss in some heavy Demski in motion again......good luck with that yeah ZC at this point just needs to play within...be smart with ball and take whats there.....pushing it will open up if he does that Getting a sense we are gonna be a more possession ...methodical offence this yr....grinding unit As mentioned by others as well would love to see us morph a Clercius at times, or a different big bodied receiver as a true tight end thats used as a passing option...MCI could even fit that scenario...spread out the defense in the box and draw guys away from the scrum with a legit receiving option breaking off the edge
  8. I agree...Best ever.. Logan has to be used...explosive as it gets from any spot on field...and coach not to get hurt...create a deep well rounded roster and a proper PR and there should be zero issue. This tho is where we have a deficiency and it's been like that for yrs
  9. 6 yrs ago...yeah. .that's a loooong time in football.. especially for an aging qb. And he didn't really light it up then either...defence and Harris were the gas that fueled that engine
  10. I see a hard time for him even on just our team getting MOP....Especially when he gonna be getting use to a whol new set of offensive weapons for the most part...we have seen how he struggls with unfamiliarity and guys he doesnt know....I see a lot of forced throws early on ...and many turnovers...again yup...hopefully we dont over use him and pulverize him to a less than optimal version of himself...I think having Logan here is key as he should get a lot of work....or he better get a lot
  11. Miller was the most important part and the key driver on turning what was a former embarrassing mess around...bar none...and doesnt get the credit he deserves on the culture and how we do business....from ball boy to Prez... It all comes from his original blue print and whom and what he put in place to get it done. Easily was the most significant and franchise changing hire...probably ever
  12. Pretty sure that's not the style he chose..or wished to play...he didn't play that way in college...or his nfl opportunities...he played QB...ran if needed...had some designed called runs in college...but not the brain dead crap we made him do Fajardo...Arbuckle...and a loony/pervert combo out performed ZC in 3 straight games when it mattered most...we should all let that absorb...mind you better coaching decisions and in game adjustments we likely win all 3...so that didn't help
  13. If he wins the right 50% then I am all for it...get us to the dance is all we need...as seen in 2019....I also think you selling Strev wayyyyyy short.....he was a victim of lunacy here....plain and simple...watch him from his first year...to what they tried to make him....night and day...If they would have just developed him as a QB from season 2...and then upon his return he'd be light yrs ahead....and prob not have gotten hurt The worst thing Strev did was let the league see what he can do with his leg...when it was there...or required and we almost destroyed him with it....His running isnt nearly effective when everyone in the stadium..coaches..fans..players and hot dog vendors know exactly whats coming....the who9le staff should have been canned for that B.S if you ask me... yeah pretty obvious the last 2 yrs his body is breaking down...even on some shots he takes where he didnt get a obvious injury you can see it....he not absorbimg them as well and it's affecting his usefulness....I not sold on if he lasts thru the yr this yr either...and hopefully if he not right we dont keep running him out there over and over and neglect the backup getting valuable play time...so as not to be in the situation we been before...with little or no faith...or trust in using said backup
  14. Coming back from knee reconstruction now...even when it is acl and pcl like he had is a walk in park now..that shouldn't be a concern there The concern is how the use him...but seeing as he got assurance prior to signing that he wint be used/treated like last 2 seasons here i think we may have eyes opened..he wouldn't have signed here and from what I hear would of landed in cgy
  15. On the fence with ZC.....I think he was failed a bit by coaching last yr...Buck is gone so we will see if that was part of it I also think part was his physical ability has eroded ...and came on fast....will it continue this yr, or was it a combination of a few things that amplified it? We will find out shortly I do believe tho he is a guy who needs familiarity around him now, also a real strong group around him to be even remotely close to the guy he appeared to be in 2019 and 2021.....and pre ACL injury with Hamilton....a guy who can elevate others play around him and take over a situation and almost will the team to victory...those days went bye bye in 2023...sure there may seem to be a moment here....and there...but moments are all they are now, it's not in his makeup anymore He now needs guys to elevate around him and have them take over games....as I dont think he can do that now....and he's a one trick pony now....if the play isnt there, and or breaks down around him...he has become a turnover machine and a guy who has become prone to fumbling ball, and making bad panicked decisions...I hope we use a lot of packages without him this yr...integrate eithe Strev or Wilson into more game day play and that Osh has the plums...and sense to yank him when he scuffling, it only will benefit us in crunch time...too many season now we have been reluctant to give him the hook...even when he wasnt physically able to be effective cause we never integrated the back-up at all all yr It's a good thing we had BO last yr to elevate the team and drag us to some W's with his will to win or it woulda been fugly ugly last yr....it was pretty fugly as it was. I'd be shocked if he is brought back in 2026 regardless how this seson goes, tho with Osh at the controls...we all know how the shocking and stupid is the norm
  16. Now that's a training camp....or how it should be... They need to get snaps in both You also inviting injury to them...or to someone really valuable as collateral damage from coddling them to...in game condition isn't just about aerobic condition and seeing things...it's the bodies re-acclimation to being hit...getting first hits in a regular season game is just asking for yr long issues...funny thing..we've seen that...alot here for the last 3..4 yrs...hmmmm imagine Camp is a joke now...practices in season even worse...80 percent of guys now couldn't handle how it was.. Like him
  17. At this point now...he won't be better...adequately capable? I think on a consistent basis that's a stretch now too..the succession and or plan in place should have been in place last yr already..and if that meant letting guys like Biggie..Thomas...even a demski go last yr to keep Brown..then so be it tho I still not 100 percent sold he is the guy yet either Buck will have him duck and chuck and go 70 percent deep to intermediate vertical all game...does he have the oline there to not get him killed?? TBD Buck had hard time deviating from a game plan if it wasn't working
  18. to a certain extent....many tho have blind bias too...there's a difference...But a HC shouldn't use his as a way to form a roster when talent trumps his bias...and it's blatantly obvious Part of that lack of burst tho is how they are asking them to play.....we need to turn them loose and be in attack mode....thats what happens when you employ guys in the middle with no push....finesse and brute stuanchness We played a safe contain system to mitigate a soft under belly....and was a problem we self inflicted on ourselves with the stubborn insistence to give 75% of snaps to weak DT's and a MLB who we refused to move on from until he got hurt Fix the middle (including MLB)...and your ends flourish.....center out...just like the oline...fix the center and guards all of a sudden look like all-world 100 percent....but it's also who yhou are putting out there too to make it work...we don't/didnt turn our ends loose...due to the lack of any disruptor...let alone even a guy who was just a run stuffer in the middle for way too may snaps Look back at tape and when we fielded certain sets....we played a different game...and would get pressure from multiple angles...when we fielded a different set...we had ends hanging back looking to find a opening and or contain and had a soft middle that got washed out, or just repositioned to where the offence wanted to take them as we relied on our DB's to shut it down...Thank god we had a good secondary and guys like Griffin coming in a lot
  19. Coaching did ZC no favors his last 2 kicks at the Cup...We do a better job there with that aspect we win....he just needed to be pedestrian and safe within a smart game plan, and provided adjustments where needed in-situ....and pulled when he got hurt...as well as being provided with the healthiest options to distribute the ball to...and we win. Our coaching let him down and he bears the brunt...that being said tho...as a 600k a yr QB he needs to have that something something extra to put the game and dead weight around him on his back and carry them across the goal line...I don't think he has that part of his game anymore...
  20. I personally judge on talent...conversation I have with people involved (before and after arriving here) ...skill set...football acumen and roster usefulness....not personal bias.....also look at potential upside and or ability to evolve..... I go to camp...a lot....and practices during the yr when I in WPg.....I dont go off "media" reports and "soundbites" people run with from a coaches comment....as a lot of times those comments are more personal bias based and likes....than actual talent or best roster option. Don't get me wrong I obviously have some favorites as well...who doesn't...but I would never put a favorite in front of a better player. I also don't care nationality....but I would build the team with best players per position and then work the ratio...not pidgeon hole positions You hit nail on head tho...some coaches do tend to lean toward their favorites...and for all Osh's good qualities/traits....he is really bad with this to the detriment of the overall roster...and is stubborn in his bias's ....right from get go....Kuale...Hurl...Willy....Kolo...The Marine...Thomas...Scmeck....BIGGIE and BA later in their tenure...The Hallett's...just off top of my head but it's consistent with him if anything....even some of the bottom end guys we retained for yrs.....wasted roster spots as they would never evolve to anything....a really good football player can play teams before pushing a starter off the starter spot....a good teams player can't necessarily become a really good football player to push anyone...and that has hindered us hopefully we allow the battles and dont do what we have done the past 2..3 yrs....gifted spots...and had too many guys not even participate to show they even deserved that gift
  21. Kelly is the most legit Canadian we have on roster who isnt already a starter...and even then is more legit than a couple who are "starters" Kid has all the skills....and the smarts That and the fact he one of our best ST guys on top of it....Groomed right he could play half back or Corner as well as Safety and I wouldn't be bothered with him getting reps at SAM....He's that good we def brought in some intruiging free safety body types who reek of versatility...be interesting camp and with my flexible work sched I hope to attend most it I just hope that at every spot...the best man gets the nod...not the "favorite" man
  22. and lost more than we won....woopdydo and stop looking back....look forward and project a roster....our best teams and deepest....and best constructed....were from 2019 to 2021.....and huh...thats when we actually won...and looked strong in doing so....since...as we have eroded...degraded and clung to best before....3 times in a row we fell flat on our faces....who cares what we did in reg season if it's flawed....aged players with nothing in the tank...marginal back-ups who never even get gane reps for the emergency they may be needed.....proof is in the puddin....change and how we do business needs to evolve or it will be 10 yrs between Cup wins before you can blink, as you'all revel in what was....a decade ago Football...evolve and adapt....or die.....we evolved and adpated for 3 yr.....we been dying now for 3 personally with me I could care less where a player comes from...and his nationality....I from the world you get your 22....or 24 best options and play them accordingly...
  23. nor is ZC track record People can cherry pick games and stats to support both narratives for a player....I think tho in the environment here...at it's apex...he would have got it done...especially with the cast around him how has ZC done of late when it mattered most??...same story...different book....In the 2 Cup wins under ZC...He was not the reason we won them...not even remotely
  24. if he was QB here for us iun the grey cup the last 2 yrs...I bet we win those games....with the supporting cast we had....He got boned hard last yr by Campbell...and has been in situations in 2 of his stops where it was less than ideal inside the organizations.....if how things are here as many claim....he would have a couple rings easily
