Week 7 - Non-Champ Games - Cgy@Ham Tor@Ssk BC@MTL
I for one enjoy to see a bad Calgary team. I haven’t really seen one too often in my life. Minus when Matt Dunigan was coach. That was funny.

Obscure moments and players in Bombers history
Stegall was the GOAT and he played with crappy quarterbacks the majority of his career. His 2002 season with nearly 1900 yards and 23 touchdowns is just insane. Don’t think I ever remember him even dropping a single ball until his last season.

Obscure moments and players in Bombers history
I’m 30 years old I can pretty much guarantee you hardly anyone under the age of 30 cares too much about CFL football it’s too bad. They really need to start catering to young people. With the rise of fantasy football and how huge the NFL name is a lot of people are more interested in the NFL these days.

Obscure moments and players in Bombers history
He was very good here back in 2009. What happened to him? Why did he only play one year with the team.

Week 6 thoughts and review
I’m not a believer in V.A. I think he’s a serviceable QB but if you’re playing a team with him as your starting QB in the playoffs you’re probably liking your teams chance of winning.

Obscure moments and players in Bombers history
Haha yes I remember when Kamau Pettersson posted here. I remember thinking he thought he was better then he really was. Ended up being really good for Edmonton but was absolutely dog do do in Winnipeg. He couldn’t catch a football.

Obscure moments and players in Bombers history
Another good game I was at was in 2011. We were playing Montreal for first place in the east and it was something like the 6th straight sell out. I remember it was so loud and the defense beat the **** out of Anthony Calvillo. They were relentless. We ended up scraping out a 1 point win to get first in the east and I remember after the game we ran into Anthony Calvillo at original Joe’s and even got a picture with him! Nice guy.

Those are some awful Bombers jerseys. Who’s decision was it to get rid of the gold?

Obscure moments and players in Bombers history
One of my favourite games ever and it was Bernard. He was a pretty decent runningback it was just too bad Reid was at his absolute best back then.

Obscure moments and players in Bombers history
What about that game the bombers had over 300 rushing yards against BC? Fred Reid had well over 200 and I can’t remember who our back up runningback was but he had over a 100 too. That was a fun game.

2010 feels like a life time ago! Plus that season was so awful I think we won 4 games that year but 9 games were by 4 or less points. Pretty fun times.

Obscure moments and players in Bombers history
I feel like we should have a thread to talk about certain memories, players and moments in Bombers history. Inspired by my Charles Roberts thread it opened the floodgates thinking of moment during my life time. Anyways I’ll go first.. does anyone remember this game? Bombers down 32-14 with 9 minutes left in the fourth. Alex Brinks gets the start and does nothing all game long. Jyles comes in and looks like a bonfide super star; we come back to force over time, Deon Beasley intercepts Casey printers for a pick six in over time and does a front flip into the end zone! Possibly the greatest game I ever attended. I remember my buddies wanted to leave when BC scored to make it 32-14. I convinced them to stay and the rest is history!

The underrated career of Charles Roberts
I get the frustration but he was a solo effort on some absolutely lousy bomber teams. I remember our offence was so bad around 05 we were looking forward to getting points from John Ryan singles.

The underrated career of Charles Roberts
Do you know how he’s doing now? Seems like he was in a bad place in life and I hope things have gotten better, he was one of my heroes growing up, I was always practising that first cut, spinarama, and all the other moves he had, he was definitely one of my heroes as a kid.

The underrated career of Charles Roberts
He always tried hard on the field. He gets a bad rep but he gave it all he had on the field. He was phenomenal
