Reading some of the suggested starting lineups in this thread is enough to make an old bastard like me give up on this team. It's simply frightening how pathetic our lineup is.

I feel sorry for Nichols, the defence will be of no help to him in this one and Plap will saddle him with another explosive game plan. The only hope is if Harris can go off for 100 or more on the ground and special teams score about 21 points, otherwise it will be fugly.

I actually don't mind a rookie HC as long he has a successful track record as an OC or DC and mentored under a winner. Dave Dickenson is a prime example of the path one should take. I am also not adverse to looking outside the CFL, that is how Trestman was found. I find it incredibly hard to believe that there aren't more guys like them out there. Can Walters and bring in Higgins, he has the credentials for the GM job and let him decide the fate of the rest of the staff going forward. That really is the only prudent thing to do if we are 1 - 8 at the half way point.

The results will look bad either way, a win and he should have pulled Willy sooner, a loss and the team really is as bad as we think it is.

What's Doug Berry up to, he can fix/build an o-line because Wylie is failing miserably.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but, the exhaustive search to fill the positions must have been done by a myopic committee as a quick perusal of their CV's would have immediately revealed that none had the qualifications necessary for such important positions. To say it was a gamble, would be an insult to the profession.

Unless Damon Allen or Tracy Hamm in their prime are available, I wouldn't put too much stock in thinking a qb is going to make any difference to this **** show.

Willy would already be on the 6 game IR if Plap wasn't protecting him with the play calling. It's a horrible situation for Willy to be in right now, or any qb for that matter.

I see two positions of immediate need before any sort of improvement can begin. Centre, the most important position on the o-line MLB, the most important position on defence Fill those 2 holes first and build around them. If Walters doesn't realize this, then he is the wrong man for the job.

We, the fans, are the owners of this team. It's pretty simple, either they hire the best people with OUR MONEY, or we put it somewhere else. Until the owners take action nothing will change. If it means bankrupting the current team to start over, then so be it.

It's not just the los, every position on the team is getting their ass kicked. When the backups had to come into the secondary last night, they were more physical than anything we had seen before. Wild could have had Messam for a loss on that final killing TD drive and wiffed. The entire team just can't compete physically especially with Edmonton and Calgary who are just bigger, faster teams.

As GM and Murphy as PP, would have been okay, but as a HC he was doomed.

It's pretty simple, you hire the right people to do the job, you don't and you get the mess we are in. It all starts with the man at the top.
