Never thought of the 'ottawa has zero money laid out' argument... Would really make sense to sign burris as your starter while demarco develops and trade glenn for picks or players...

Gittings says no real deadline? I guess aside from free agency... Bombers will like sign Willy and after that, I would think Burris negotiating position gets a fair bit weaker.

Burris is probably trying to get stupid money upfront just in case Walters doesn't upgrade our OL and receivers in time...

This off-season just gets more and more underwhelming. These two guys are probably the absolute lowest priority signings we have.

How do you know they didn't exceed the cap. The announcement isn't made until late March or April. I said 'seem'. Have some tea and chill out.

Look at Saskatchewan... all last year, we had to listen to guys **** about how Taman was spending recklessly and overpaying - they don't seem to have ended up over the cap. I would expect Durant and Burris' contracts to be pretty close - at least, I hope we're not paying Burris more than Durant... We're just so used to having the cheapest QB in the league that everyone thinks the sky will fall if we actually pay a real salary.

I think some of Walter's trades are as much about bringing the bomber franchise back into the mix as anything... Between Mack and Kelly its been a long time since any other GM/Agent has taken the bombers even half seriously - and it will still take a while. Not a huge fan of giving up our 2nd round pick this year but at least bringing in Neufeld shows Walters is trying... same with Banks. Hopefully, that helps us bring in free agents... just wish we could have landed a Centre though...

My only concern right now is that this feels a lot like 2009-2010 off-season when we assembled a GM and coaching staff that had some good potential but also had some big question marks and head scratchers... I feel the same now as I did then, glad the old regime is gone but more 'hoping' for success rather than expecting it...

'Tried' is the key word - when you're signing guys like Boatman and starting them at Right Tackle - it ain't quite workin' out. If you put the "i" before the "r" you get the word tired. That's what Mack was. "Sleepy" Joe. He slept thru free agency every year. He thought that Buck Pierce would start & finish every game. Of course, while he slept through FA, he dreamed the entire "Buck plays every down" thing. Joe is now a Posturepedic mattress salesman at Sleep Country Canada. As if he could get a job at Sleep Country...

Agent says he's waiting... my only concern is Edmonton. Really think that Jones could decide to go in a different direction, he also wants to 'win now'.

This is totally Barker's style. He's a 'new age' GM as opposed to a Buono or Huf... probably just realized that Collaros was not going to stay and helped him out.
