  2. Wish the Argos had won that game vs BC - they totally should've. So they might start out a bit snarly like nothing's wrong, but they've got to be mentally shaky. After all, they've only scored 38 points total in 3 games. Won't take too much for Bombers to force them into capitulation.
  3. I said in preseason Bombers made a mistake letting Davis go. I hope he proves me wrong.
  4. Chris Streveler
  5. I don't know what the coaches are thinking but a lot of fans think Nichols is boring to watch - especially with the offensive weapons he's got. What's the point in having Chris Matthews if he hardly sees the ball? Nichols decides very quickly to throw the ball out of bounds. He does that alot. He slides or goes down as soon as a defender gets a pinky on him, instead of fighting for yards. We are blessed to have a shut-down Defence. But if Bombers management is thinking that at least Nichols can manage things so we might not lose - then I think people are going to stay home instead of buying tickets to see the team play. They might sell more tickets by giving Streveler the reigns. He's exciting to watch, even if there are some growing pains. Fans want to see him play.
  6. If he's holding the team back they sure would. Thing is, haven't seen enough this year to know if we're getting the bad Nichols from 2018 or the decent Nichols from 2017. Game 1 vs BC looked pretty good, put together some drives. But Game 2 vs Esks showed all the same tendencies as the sub-par Nichols of 2018. It's not time to panic, but Bombers brass should be concerned and ready to give Strev the reigns soonish if Nichols continues to be unable to move the football in a sustained way.
  7. Gaitor on the medical table, never returned. Knee or ankle. Team-mates commiserating. Oliveira's injury looked worse after that ST pileup. He got rolled on or twisted high ankle. Did not look good. Good thing Bombers still have Johnny Augustine and Chris Humes. Would not be surprised to see Rios and Humes in vs Argos. I'd also like to see more of what Streveler can do at QB.
  8. It was a "Lucky" win.
  9. I was at the game. Andrew Harris was totally pissed and disgusted after seeing Nichols basically give up on that 2nd last possession. You can bet players want to see more game reps for Streveler too.
  10. Predicting Jefferson will play a huge role in stompin' the Esks tonight. And Matthews. And when the smoke clears everyone in the CFL will see Bombers are the top team in the league.
  11. Chris Matthews
  12. Awful defence by both teams. Davis showed poise and some nice throws into a tight window. I'm a fan and thought we made a mistake letting him go. Lankford had a surprisingly good game but I don't want him back because, generally, he's not very good. We kept Randle around for two seasons longer than we should have - he started to fade in the latter half of 2016. Henry should be disciplined by the CFL for putting his shoulder into a player who was out of the playing area out of control and in a position where he couldn't defend himself.
  13. Dom Davis
  14. Demski is a fumble risk every time he touches the ball.
  15. Big win for RBs. Big loss for Stamps. Davis looked very good despite the picks - not all of which were his fault. Good QB - he won't do that again.
  16. Should be a good game. I like the look of Bombers defence - a lot of talent there. If Nichols is as slim and trim and speedy as he says he is - 25-12 Bombers. Go Blue!
  17. Never been impressed with Coombs. But looking at his mediocre career stats - he's a better bet than Demski.

  19. He still might have a breakout year. Only it will be with another team.
  20. Yes, releasing Simonise is a way to keep both Augustine and Oliveira - who will spell Harris in that RB/SB hybrid - I hope.
  21. He looks to be running OK here: https://www.atlantafalcons.com/video/qb-davis-takes-it-43-yards-10944749
  22. That was a mistake, he should have been given more playing time in Winnipeg - instead they gave the ball to Brian Brohm and we all know how that went.
  23. Based on his stats from last year with the Redblacks when he played in 8 games. More opportunity there than he ever had here. His completion percentage and QB efficiency rating from 2018 was higher than Streveler, Collaros, Pipkin, Jeff Matthews and even BLM. Plus, Davis can take off and run very effectively. That's what I like about him, he's a mobile QB who can only get better with more game time reps. I think he's exciting to watch. Just my opinion but now that he's the starter for them, lets wait and see
  24. Davis wasn't given enough regular season reps in Winnipeg to make a meaningful evaluation. He's above average and I'm not surprised Redblacks just named him QB #1 for regular season: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/dominique-davis-oittawa-redblacks-quarterback-1.5160199
  25. Streveler is going to be fine and could be our No. 1 long before the end of the season. Not worried about him. I am more worried about Lapolice's playcalling, and whether the O-line is going to gel. It looks like the playbook has been tweaked as the QBs have been repping alot of rollouts. That's a good strategy should the O line struggle, and gives both Nichols and Streveler more time to find the open receiver. They both seem to need that time - but for different reasons. That said, it'll be the defence that carries the Bombers to glory this year.
