One decision in which it appears Thomson had a very direct hand was the choice to scale the arena at 15,000 seats – to some minds, too small to house a contemporary NHL franchise – again, he says, drawing on his time with HBC. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/david-thomsons-calculated-romance-with-the-nhl/article625126/

Particularly David Thomson. He's on record as saying he pitched to TNSE a smaller arena than what was built. The supply & demand logic. It's beyond baffling to me that Winnipeggers think we should have built a bigger arena. Logic, where art thou?

Bomber Moves 2018
...well, at least 2. Hef's reply was he's still trying to taking care of his surgery, and isn't sure if he's coming. Swag on.

Game 63 : Rinne @ Hellebuyck
Can’t believe he’s allowed to wear Kane’s old number.

31 year old with back problems? If this is any team not trying to 3 peat, that's an awful deal.

Perhaps not the best idea to tell players they may be moved RIGHT BEFORE your most important games of the season?!

It's as if they were going all in for Karlsson, and when that didn't happen they got Tatar and went "our fans won't know the difference, right?"

1st rounder becomes a 2nd if Kane doesn't re-sign. Sharks fans: hope for the 2nd.- Game 63 : Rinne @ Hellebuyck

My snide remarks aside, I'd rather not play against Kane in the playoffs. D gotta keep their heads up!- Around the NHL 2017/2018
3:00 eastern is the deadline, right? So, 1 hour left for McDonagh, Kane, Karlsson, Maroon, Vanek, Mike Green.... I'm just waiting for a team to trade for The Natural. Can't wait to roast them for that.- Around the NHL 2017/2018

I really like the move. Foley had promise, but he's hardly a sure bet to be an impact NHLer. Plus FW is our biggest strength prospect-wise. The 4th means nothing, and I'm not too concerned about a 26th - 31st overall pick either. The org owed it to the vets to make a move, even a more minor won. Signifies to the rest of the league that we're competing for a Cup. Unbelievable how things have changed since the Fall....- Around the NHL 2017/2018

Decent year for Stastny; 12 G, 40 pts in 63 games. 200+ goals, 600+ pts career. 14 goals, 35 pts in 55 playoff games. There's our help down the middle.- Around the NHL 2017/2018

Not to mention trading a potential stud for that bum Burrows. Giving up on Zibanjed. Karlsson heading out the door. Just a trash heap. - Around the NHL 2017/2018
