What the Coaches see on how the defences defend us, forces them to make a decision on RBs, and they choose Grigsby. Why? Because Grigsby give us the best chance to break a play and get those special runs on 10, 20, 30 yards, although that is happening with less frequency. i would totally support Volny being given a chance to run in certain situations, at least to give Grigsby a bit of a rest, at best, to get those tough yards Grigsby cannot seem to find.

Actually that video captures what happened on that play pretty well. It certainly wasn't a blindside hit, a bit late, but since both players were engaged, I wouldn't have called it.

So, we're not signing any players, but when we do, they are not wowful enough. I'm curious, how the hell would we know until we sign them?

If you're just trying to measure progress then all you can do is look at where they are starting from and gauge whether or not they are headed in the right direction. We should be comparing our team against the other teams in the league this year, not against last years historically horrible team. If we'd gone 1-5 in the first third and 5-1 in the second third, then I'd say we are heading in the right direction and I'd be pretty pumped about our chances of making the playoffs this year. That's not what's happened. We pulled out some late comebacks in the 1st third of the season and we've been heading in the wrong direction since then, culminating in a bad loss to the former worst team in the league. That's way more important than how we look compared to last years losers. Quite frankly, this team isn't much better than last years team. Willy's the biggest difference between 3 and 6 wins and neither record is good enough. What? that's so incredibly wrong. How many games last year, were we done during, or shortly after the 1st quarter? This year, we could easily be 7-7 or better. But I guess you haven't been paying attention.

The running back question is a poser all right. Nowhere, on our roster, do I see an attempt to find that breakaway, exciting back that each team tries to locate, even as a complimentary runner. This unwavering belief that Grigsby can do it all and be the vaunted tailback that we need is very puzzling, to say the least. Those dozen RBs that we could have paid a dime for, are nowhere to be found, it seems. It goes against logic to stick with the same guy who can only give you a small part of what this offence sorely needs to pick up this offence and make it a hell of a lot better. The opposition knows what kind of RB Grigsby is, and I'll tell you one thing, he doesn't scare them.

This potential signing goes against what I've been reading here that Walters is not doing anything to try and make this team better. Daniels, Marvin Booker DE, Devin Tyler OL, Thaddeus Gibson DL, Willie Moseley DE/LB (again) Justin Wilson WR, Rashad Lawrence WR, Must all be phantom signings.

Bellefeuille is a decent OC to have for a 1st year QB. The receiving core has been proven to be good enough when we have our starters in, but the running game is a problem…a real problem. And to me that's on Grigsby. Good receiver out of the backfield, and his blocking is picking up, but when you can't get the yardage consistently, and can't get that 2 yards when needed, then we try those rinky-dink plays that hardly work. A whole hell of a lot of passing plays would work a lot better with a better running back to complement the little schmo we have in there now. That's not an insult..just the facts.

The only thing losing interest is my bank account.

Yes, there's more than enough blame to go around. And not enough credit to Ottawa. They had a good O game schemed, called, and here it is….executed. They just about won their last three games, but had the other teams make at least one more play than them. And we couldn't do that. We deserved to lose.

Well, that's the thing right there. You're faced with 3rd and 5, after a potentially game changing TD drop by Grisby on the previous play, and the FG would be 46 yds. into the wind, so you figure, give it a shot and hold them if it doesn't work. Most teams trust their D in tough situations, and this D has come through many times before to get stops. But not this time.

That play does prove the point that Kuale is a marked man. And he is. The only reason a penalty call is made there is "who" did the hitting, and after watching Kuale's game through out the years, that's the only kind of "mark' he's going to leave on our game. I hate injuries per se, but sometimes...

There are only two people that believe we had a chance to keep LaBatte, in how the circumstances unfolded. And one of them is Lawless.
