I could care less if he's announced tomorrow or late February. The average fan doesn't care at all who the DC is. Walters already said he will be selecting the players rather then the coaches so who cares when its announced.

The team was out of gas in the 3rd period.... it's also crazy that this team can't score when we have a 5 on 3.... had a golden chance yet couldn't pull the trigger.

For entertainment purposes you may be right... but so many of those over turned calls were big on the final score of the game. What the league needs is to push the season up, more holding calls being called, and more talent....

Great game by pavs? I thought he made some really good saves but those last two goals and the shoot outs he was absolute garbage. Thought he was out of place quite a bit and giving up a tonne of unnecessary rebounds. Overall..... Kane loves to take horrible penalties.... Enstrom is terrified to shoot the puck.... Byfuglien truly the MVP this season.... Thorburn is essentially a pylon on the ice... Jets got cute late in the 3rd and they lost the game because of it... Thought the refs were a bit iffy on the icing calls and I think it's a bit unfair that apparently Anaheim are about to play 30 of their next 31 games in California? Seems kind of cheap that they don't have to travel while the rest of the league does....

So he allows one bad goal and he no longer can start? Should we bench all our d for not being able to clear the zone for two periods?

I wouldn't put blame on hutch... The team in period two and three did nothing at all...they are looking good in ot.

The jets are absolutely flat, they are moving so slow and for the last two periods it feels like LA has been in the Jets end 95% of the time.

Good on him, family is much more important then money.

Tonnes of coaches are 2nd or 3rd choices...

Picard is much better then the garbage american guys who rotated in and out over the last few years. I would rather the club sign some guys like this and take this sort of risk rather then playing rookies and unknowns without any veteran backups to fall back on.

I am glad someone else noticed this. I only watched the first two periods but dear lord it was bad. People claim Beyak is a homer but he's nowhere near as bad as those ding dongs were. They nit picked all the penalties , continually cried about Reimer being left out to dry and how he's a saviour, continued to talk about each mistake the Leafs made... it was nauseating.

I don't think anything is wrong with the field size... look at Arena football and how gawdy the point totals are. I enjoy the NFL more so because the level of talent is amazing and it isn't expected that receivers are to drop balls every 2nd play....

Pardy / Postma are definitely expendable...

I don't get this thread... Picard is washed up and done and couldn't make our crap o-line.... yet by the Riders shedding him it will cripple their team and make them losers not making the play offs? The logic doesn't make sense.....

I wouldn't compare our defense to halls last year. Hall had a great d line and a crap secondary. We have a much better secondary. Also don't forget his defense was on the field a whole lot when they had sunseri and Joseph stinking it up. I'm at least confident that with Hall we can stop the run and that his defense can actually be flexible and change.

I'm ok with him... I do think we have talented guys who simply were a victim of a bad scheme.

I haven't watched a lot of the game but the 3rd Islanders goal is mostly on Thorburn.... It's guys like him and Halischuk that reallly really hurt the club...

Maybe Trestman can walk in to the 49ers job.... they need the help on offense and the team is extremely loaded with talent.

Perhaps a trade may be in play?
