I mean.. not really. He has thrown what... 50 passes? To me that means very little. You don't really know a guy until he has started 4 or 5 games in a row. However, if he was released (which I doubt, there is room for both Manziel and Adams) I'd hope we would at least look into it.

Possibly. He's not exactly proven... IMO just another prospect, albeit one with a little more experience. I wouldn't mind getting him here but wouldn't give up much for him.

Who though? I understand the idea, but if there is no one available... it's just talk.

It goes on in our own backyard as well. How do you feel about Indigenous people using spotlights, night-hunting, etc? Also cowardly?

The options are pretty limited. Is a Mitchell Gale or Jeff Mathews really going to give us more than we could get from Ross or Streveler? Hard to say. I understand the value of a veteran backup but if the veteran is a known loser, I'd rather take a shot on someone unproven who may have some upside. We had Davis and LeFevour last year, both had experience, but it didn't help us.

Big-arm Bry, that's what they call him
  7. What a bizarre story

Alex Ross and Chris Streveler (rookie). Sounds like it is pretty tight but Streveler won the day today.

The video was posted by an account that makes these highlight videos for hundreds of players. I doubt he had anything to do with it.

My reasoning being that our DI LB the last couple years has been used almost exclusively on special teams and we have enough good Canadian players to run down kicks now that it may not be necessary. Although it would be nice to have Wild, JSK, and Bighill all on the roster, for sure.

Linebacker, IMO, is the place we don't need to use a DI.
  12. I'm not that surprised. They had him lining up at field corner and you don't sign a guy who just got an NFL shot, for presumably bigger money, to play on the field corner. Just makes no sense. More poor roster management from Chris Jones.

Two different circumstances. Bringing in a rookie receiver and sitting one of the vets gives you nothing in terms of different formations or a higher skill level, while bringing in Flanders instead of Lafrance gives you a clear advantage. But you make a good point about Demski. If anyone is filling the role Flanders played towards the end of last season, it would be him. I am curious to see what happens.
  14. I think there is an element of interpretation here... while the players were not technically acquired by trade, there were trades involved rather than just a straight-up expansion draft pick. The tweet is somewhat deceptive in that way... but it captures the fact that McPhee basically fleeced Minnesota, Columbus, and Florida. There was good GM work involved in building the team, it wasn't just a gift.

So what's wrong with that? It's nice to work in a 2 back set every now and then.

I agree with the first part. I think it's a little tongue-in-cheek as a response to all the articles about the shooter wearing right-wing symbols while ignoring the blatant hammer-and-sickle also present. And your so-called left-wing candidate was in the NRA's pocket just as much as anyone else.
  17. Atomic replied to Rich's post in a topic in General Discussion
Well the hammer and sickle sure ain't right-wing
  18. Meanwhile in Montreal
  19. At about 7 minutes into the first period I said "wow, these guys look like they are in double OT right now." They were just exhausted. I don't think there is anyone to blame... nobody on this team, and especially not the guys 25 and under, have played this much hockey before in their careers. It was a great run.

There may still be a veteran cut... not sure we had cap room to sign Bighill without consequences. Maybe one of Okpalaugo or Roh don't survive cutdown day. In the end I guess it comes down to which spot has the best Canadian depth. The question is the same at every spot... Can we use Thomas Miles or Jesse Briggs as the rotational LB, can we use LaFrance as a secondary RB, can we use Derek Jones as the 6th DB? Somewhere we need a Canadian player to step up.
  21. Atomic replied to BigBlue's post in a topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I like LaFrance but he is no Timothy Flanders. What is the stat, the Bombers were 6-2 with Flanders in the lineup last year? He changed the offence. I wonder if we forgo the DI on the defensive line in favour of leaning on Corney and Ekakatie. Or even at LB where we also have some good Canadian depth.
  22. Atomic replied to BigBlue's post in a topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Yes all I'm saying is that Bighill can do both... not that it's necessarily the best idea to put him at WIL
  23. Atomic replied to BigBlue's post in a topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
    That was six years ago.

Bighill mostly played WILL in BC so it's not surprising that they'd consider him there. The plan could be JSK at middle and Bighill on the weak side and I wouldn't have any issue with that. I don't see Wild playing MLB again, though.
  25. Hell of a season. Damn disappointing but they'll be back next year.
