  1. Someone show that picture to Zach Collaros and tell him if he signs with the Ticats he'll be playing at some high school field for the whole season.

I don't care how muddy it was, if it didn't have a manhole in the middle of the field it can't be the absolute worst.
  3. Smith made $400k last season. Where are you getting these numbers?
  4. Can't be worse than the last bunch of losers? Seriously the average fan doesn't know crap about anything. I don't think the average fan even knows who our coordinators are, let alone holds an opinion on them.

It is amazing what progress he has made over the course of half a season. The sky is the limit for Scheife the Knife.
  6. I still think we have a shot. He's obviously not opposed to coming here. Agreed, but if the money is equal, you have to think he chooses Hamilton due to their season they had last year compared to ours. I'm not trying to be negative, but that really seems like the only realistic viewpoint. If we're going to get Collaros, we're going to have to beat Hamilton's offer, and probably by a decent amount. As for Burris, what does Hamilton do now if they lose out on Collaros? Kinda awkward to bring back Burris now.
  7. Well Nelson Martin coached Hamilton's secondary in 2012 so you know he's good
  8. Not at all. Some fans here feel that way, but I guarantee the average fan would be thrilled to hear we've acquired a veteran QB like Burris, 38 years old or not.

Anyone hoping for the Bombers to improve their OL through free agency can probably let go of that dream at this point. Unless you're naive enough to believe Josh Bourke is going to make it to free agency or any of the remaining duds on the market can start on the Bomber OL.
  10. Why? Because you say so? lol I don't get why you feel like when someone else has a point they're making, you're the first one to demand source materials or some kind of proof but you just think it's okay that your argument can be "because I say so" Burris isn't hitting free agency because he's a hot commodity that will instigate a bidding war. If he hits free agency, it's because the team that had him doesn't want him. It's the same as with any player who is declined an offer by their old team. They don't hit the open market with much, if any, leverage to command whatever they want. Burris will still have all the leverage. Because if Collaros is already off the market, the Bombers have no options for a starting QB other than Burris, unless they are really willing to roll the dice on Willy or Hall. And after last season, everyone knows the Bombers do not want to run the risk of another quarterback disaster. Burris could easily just retire. He will be able to squeeze the Bombers for every penny, no question. No chance, the ego is too great. He'll play at a lower salary rather than retire. No chance, the ego is too great. He'll retire before playing for anything less than a starter's salary.

OL coach to OC? Seems like a fairly average jump... just one step up the ladder.

  13. Burris, Willy, Hall. Works for me.
  14. Tsoumpas is from Edmonton so that could be a good fit for him. As for the original question, I would make either one the highest paid OL in the league. Not saying I think they are the best OL in the league, but we have no, or very little, top end Canadian talent and we need some badly.... even if we have to overpay to get it.
  15. I realize that. My question was did he re-sign during the season, or originally sign for 3 years? There was never any extension announced.

We have a couple things to attract a QB.... namely a starting job and an open checkbook.
  17. Atomic replied to gbill2004's post in a topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Either way, the answer is still Collaros
  18. I kinda did the tour last year, I sat in different seats for every game. By far, my favourite seats were in the overhang on the upper deck. That would be my choice... basically front row in the upper deck at the 55.

I disagree. Scouting reports from college are one thing, the CFL is another thing altogether. With our less-than-spectacular OL, Collaros' escapability in the pocket will serve him well. To me, Willy seems like more of a traditional pocket passer... accurate and good decision maker, but not going to wiggle is way out of a jam the way Collaros can. IMO, the ability to extend plays like Durant and Burris can gives you such a huge advantage in the CFL, as defenses start to scramble and that big field opens right up. Collaros has shown that ability and I haven't seen it from Willy yet.

I'm still hoping for Tibesar as DC.

Walters mentioned that O'Shea was down in Florida with him scouting. If he is down there scouting players then I wonder if they already have a staff in place and are just waiting until they return to Winnipeg to announce it.

We certainly need them after losing Pierre-Luc Labbe and James Green, as well as potentially losing Henoc Muamba. Our top 3 special teamers could all be gone next season.
  23. Atomic replied to Mr Dee's post in a topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
    No they didn't.

Good to see a flurry of DBs being signed as i really felt underwhelmed at times last season.. interesting how many canadian receivers we are bringing in as well, anyone know.about this new one? Feoli-Gudino has some pretty good credentials. Played in the CIS from 2007-2011 and was drafted by the Argos in the 5th round. He was a Vanier Cup champion with Laval in 2008 and 2010, and was the Vanier Cup MVP in 2008. Led the CIS in receptions in 2008 with 65, which is the third highest single-season total in CIS history. He also has the second most career receptions in CIS history with 238. I think he was on the Argos' PR for the last two seasons... maybe made the active roster but I don't recall him getting any significant playing time.
