If we are hovering around playoff position around the trade deadline, I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a big move to bring in some support. I believe they would have made a move last year if Scheifele didn't get hurt. I didn't think they had a very productive off-season so IMO they are still exceeding expectations even with this recent slump.

Meh. Blues are the best team in the West. I don't think anyone expects the Jets to finish anywhere near the top of the conference. That's why I wouldn't say they've regressed... I don't think they were ever much better than a middle of the conference team. I believe they will be up and down all year and hopefully sneak into the 7th or 8th spot. I felt they battled pretty hard in this game... they will bounce back.

I think it's a stretch to say Wally likes Lapo. I've seen a few people say that but it isn't really based on anything outside of one quote defending Lapo after Mack fired him. And that seemed like more of a shot at Mack than a real defense of Lapo, to be honest.

Their defence was one of, if not the best, defences in the league this year. Washington might stick around even with a new coach, but if not, I'd be interested in getting him here as well.

Excited for the Perreault line. I never liked the move to the wing for him. He is our best face off guy. Slater might win more but he's playing less than 10 minutes a night so I don't count him. Also interested to see how Hutchinson handles himself. If he is lights out, it could really shake up our goaltending situation.

Hopefully he is with Doctor Handsome and they are spooning somewhere. Jealous? Who wouldn't be?

Its not laziness when there is less than 24 hours between games. Humans, even professional athletes, get tired. Yes, you have to push through it but let's not equate fatigue with laziness.

If we want to fix the OL for next season, it won't be through the draft. That's the reality. That's why I say you take the best player available, regardless of position. If we get a Canadian starter at a different position, that could allow us to start an additional American OL and if we recruit properly that could go further towards giving us a better overall OL than any first-year Canadian OL would.

As I've said about Kane before, he considers himself as his own enterprise similar to how LeBron James conducts himself. I believe everything he does both on and off the ice is purposely meant to build and promote his 'business'. For example, if being a good team player helps his business, that's what he'll do and how he will market himself. He's a lot smarter than some people give him credit for. The problem with that approach is LeBron James is arguably the biggest star in the NBA. Kane is a barely average NHL player.

If they really want to move tickets they should do some kind of deal involving the Winter Classic. But that would take too much leg work on the behalf of Wade "I know how to fix it, raise prices!" Miller.

Maybe Morley's play tailed off because he was trying to cover for all the other problematic players on the O-line. Maybe the Bombers got worse because their shoes were getting worn out. Maybe maybe maybe.

Do players get paid for bye weeks?

Morley really tailed off in the second half of the season. Blocking got worse, snaps got worse (although I don't think he ever botched one so bad that it went over Willy's head or anything). I would have given MOL to Chris Greaves, he was by far our most consistent OL. Fine with the Willy pick, he was our MOP without question.

Norris was not taken off our practice roster. We released him, along with the rest of our PR players. And then Montreal signed him as a free agent. Nothing nefarious going on here, I'd wager no one forced us to release our PR players before the actual end of the season, we probably did it to save money.
