So what's the problem? You originally said "Laine and Scheifele were averaging a point per game together"...... ok, so now Perreault and Scheifele are averaging a point per game together. What's the issue, exactly? Are we trying to win games or trying to win the Calder for Laine?

I don't know, but I do know Perreault-Scheifele-Wheeler has been the best line we've put together all season. If Laine can't produce without Scheifele, that's not Maurice's fault.

It's easy to blame Maurice but at some point it would be nice to see one of our fourth-line players actually do something productive. Yeah you can say it's hard to make a difference in 6-8 minutes per game.... but it's not impossible. Getting a little tired of coaching being used as an excuse for our players underperforming. Maybe Dano should be in instead of Thorburn. Maybe he should score a couple goals and force the issue instead of waiting for it to be handed to him. Same goes for Petan, Armia, and any number of other players that the fanbase makes excuses for every day instead of facing the obvious reality that some of these players just aren't good enough. Heard some people the other day blaming Laine's slump on Maurice for splitting him up with Scheifele. Yeah, how awful, he has to play with Nik Ehlers and Bryan Little.... impossible to score with linemates like that, right?

Definitely some truth to this article but it's hard to take this guy seriously while he criticizes Trump's lack of rhetoric in regards to North Korea while simultaneously heaping praise on China, North Korea's only real ally.

Even if he wants to sign with the Jets, why wouldn't he wait for UFA anyways? They'll still be there.

I can't embed it right now but it stated that Poolman becomes a UFA but still in the ELC system on August 15 (meaning he still must sign an entry-level deal), but if he goes back for another year he is a pure UFA with no restrictions whatsoever. He can't play this year due to injury so if I'm him there is no way I sign with the Jets now. But maybe they can find a reason for him to do so.

That's the easy part. Hiring a better staff is the tricky part. Either way, not gonna happen... Maurice will be back.

A better finish is a better finish. The team will remain basically the same next year but a little more experienced and maybe add a couple more talented players, particularly in goal. As bleak as this season was, I do see us improving next season, and possibly by enough to make the playoffs.

See I don't believe Comrie is having development issues, other than playing on a horrid team. Goalies SHOULD experience ups-and-downs for a few years in the AHL before coming up, unless they are Carey Price.

So basically, had to go back six years to find a highly-ranked CIS DL who has had any noticeable impact... and the best we can come up with is Junior Turner. I think that supports my point more than disproves it.

CIS defensive linemen tend not to be very good high picks in general. I can't recall ever seeing a CIS defensive lineman get drafted in the first couple rounds and have any kind of impact.
