Rams headed back to LA
Kind of odd how the NFL has done this. Basically the Chargers have a year to negotiate with the Rams to come to an agreement. If not completed the Raiders will then get dibs to negotiate according to Adam Schefter's Twitter account.

Around The League Off Season Discussion
Come on now horrible?? http://cfl.stats.com/cfl/playerstats.asp?id=336211 His stats are way better then the crap we fielded in the last several years and he runs real hard. I'd have zero issues if they signed him. Too bad he carries the ball like a loaf of bread, hence why he's been benched multiple times because of his inability to hang on to the football.

Personally I don't see how it's a dangerous precedent when it's clearly a promotion for Jones. As for the assistants, as has been said the vast majority of them have had their contracts now expire.

LaPolice new Bombers OC
Apparently while doing his TSN gig he's attended 10 NFL camps held to improve and come up with new offensive Offensive plays. A guy who is willing to do that on his own dime and time is serious about improving his OC abilities. Time to forget about the old days guys. Give him a break. The old days (02-03), the not so old days (10-12) - Neither of which produced the ultimate goal, nevermind the fact that he has 13 years of coaching experience in the CFL and no championships. Pretty weak in an 8/9 team league. Sorry but I have a hard time trusting someone who had faith that Gary Crowton would be able to run a capable CFL offence.

We know what the changes will be. Build leads, decent rush stats, good play action calls, and ultra conservative in the fourth quarter with leads which is bound to cost us a couple games a season. Ok. We're 12 and 6 instead of 14 and 4 I highly recommend you do some fact checking before offering rebuttals. Rick Warman was the team's offensive coordinator in 2001 when the team went 14-4. The Bombers went 12-6 the next season, and 11-7 the year after under LaPolice. Steady regression as has been the theme throughout most of his coaching career with the exception of a few outliers. There's a reason why we fired him...Twice.

True and in my opinion this is starting to be an issue for the league. I believe it was Madani who tweeted something along those lines either yesterday or earlier today that there is a lack of blue chip coaching prospects out there at the moment league wide. One could make the argument that in some regards the team didn't have a lot to choose from, but at the same time it doesn't make me feel any better about this hire as we've seen the end of this movie twice already...

Not too hard when you have Charles Roberts and Milt Stegall in their primes. He was still getting chewed out by Milt and Khari Jones a number of times on the sidelines in his first go around as OC here which I remember quite vividly as my season tickets at the old stadium were behind the Bomber bench.

The "anybody but Bellefeuille effect". Is Lapo better? 100 per cent, without question than Marcel. Is he good enough to get the job done? Not a chance.

On one hand, the man has failed here twice before which makes me less than excited. On the other hand the lack of experienced, capable offensive playcallers speaks for itself currently. We got the second best (I don't buy Cortez is retiring) person out there that has experience, but he's still a B level coordinator at my best in my opinion.

Cortez among OC's on Bomber wish list
Good point. If Cortez is as good as some here are suggesting, then how come BC and Sask let him go? The same reason guys like Don Matthews got fired. Coaches are hired to be fired. Nature of the beast regardless of winning. Funny how people throw Sask in there too considering he was the OC of their staff when they won the Grey Cup in 2013, and the offence was one of the top in the league in 2014 until Durant got hurt in the Banjo Bowl. He was a scapegoat when things went in the toilet with Sunseri.

Agreed. Chapdelaine has way too many similarities to Marcel IMO.

Cortez among OC's on Bomber wish list
From the original post. That's different than his 'opinion would be considered'. O'Shea and Walters should be making the decisions, not Willy or any other player for that matter. No it's actually not different though. Some opinions have more merit than others, Willy's being one of them. It's still O'Shea's decision (sorry, Walters should have nothing to do with it since it's not his coaching staff) at the end of the day. It's really not a difficult concept to grasp.

Tommy Condell intrigues me as well, though there's a risk in that how much of Hamilton's success is him, and how much is from Kent Austin.

You don't think the starting qb should be heard before hiring an oc? They heard his opinion in retaining Bellefuille... just saying. Because a player is really going to say in public they think a member of their coaching staff should be fired.... Give your head a shake.

You don't think the starting qb should be heard before hiring an oc? The team should be run by management, not by the players. Asking Willy for his opinion of coaches he's worked under is fine. Asking his opinion of coaches he hasn't worked under... not so much. Giving him a yay or nay? Nope. You act like it's Willy's choice alone. They'll ask for his opinion - As they should since he's the franchise QB, but he certainly won't be the one making the decision. He's worked under Cortez, so he'll know obviously if that's an offence he likes or not. If your quarterback doesn't feel comfortable running a certain offence, that tends to pose a bit of a problem.

Cortez among OC's on Bomber wish list
If forced to choose between Cortez and Harris I'll take Cortez easily. Cortez has the championships as mentioned, and Jennings and Lulay are hardly what anyone would call great quarterbacks so I personally attribute BC's struggles to simply a lack of talent than anything else - A big reason why Wally has taken as much heat as he has lately. I think there are better ways to spend our money than on a running back regardless of his passport. Take care of the defensive line so we can get some solid pressure without needing to send the house, and work on the offensive line as well. Offensively speaking, you get much better results with a great O-line that can create lanes for a back versus a great running back running behind a poor offensive line. It just doesn't work. We need to dominate the LOS on both sides of the ball in 2016.
